NASCAR said Jeremy Mayfield once again tested positive for methamphetamine
and asked the federal judge who lifted the driver's drug suspension to reinstate the ban.

The positive result from a July 6 random test was included in a U.S. District Court
filing Wednesday that included an affidavit from Mayfield's stepmother, who claimed
she personally witnessed the driver using methamphetamine at least 30 times over seven years.

NASCAR: Mayfield again tests positive for meth (http://www.pantagraph.com/sports/article_d096ad2e-7198-11de-aaea-001cc4c002e0.html - broken link)

Wow, Drugs are everywhere in professional sports, even NASCAR is not exempt...

That's pretty sad. He seems to be well on his way to drugging his way out of a sponsorship.

Addiction can get anyone regardless of money. Scary it was some one whose job is driving an automobile at close to 170 MPH. Can't there be some sort of charge against him, he put not only other drivers but pit crews and staff in jeopardy if he was on meth when he was driving.

I feel sorry for the guy.

I hope he gets treatment because it would be a shame to let him go down a self destructive road without someone reaching out to save him from himself.
