That is a LOT lower than the top rate I propose. Anybody making millions per year should be taxed at 90% with no tax havens available. Besides the NY Post is a notoriously unreliable propaganda sheet for the Right Wing fear mongers.
No one's forcing them to live in New York City, or even New York State.
That is correct. They will leave. Then with the cash cows gone, the socialists will have to come up with another plan. I've got a great plan. STOP SPENDING SO MUCH.
This is why socialism does not work. One cannot compel another to work for another man forever. This is why physical bondage (slavery) or economic bondage (socialsim) does not work. Being forced to work for another's benefit will result in resistance to that force. In this situation- moving to another state. Good luck if you rely upon the government to support you.
Greg's plan for 90% tax rates is a good one- if you want to reduce governemnt revenues. That contention is equally as silly as someone in a higher economic group saying they want to make all lower income people slaves. If you really are for freedom, be responsible. Pay your own way, pull your own weight, and live free. If you really like tyranny, support more government and forcing others to work against thier will for a dependent componant of the population. That is facism, but again, if you are the beneficiary of "freebies", it is perfectly okay.

I guess being a liberal your not the least bit concerned that you might find your resources under attack from a hostile government someday.
