every time a poarty has a big loss they say its dead. i remember not too long ago people saying the dems were dead.
Yes, the GOP is searching its soul a little how to best appeal to the public. I doubt they will have a landslide in 2010, but its pretty normal they'll likely take some seats back. who knows when, but it will eventually come back will a new crop of leaders. they are stil searching.

the changing demographics of this country is a telling sign of the extinction of the gop.

gop is whites only club. 10 years ago they couldve won with just pandering to the whites, but not anymore.

28-22 governship, soon to be 26-24 is a telling side that you read too much Daily Kos and Media Matter, and allow the facts to get in the way with your ideology; careful that stuff will rot your brain.

Boy, I hope so. I think this we're headed deeper into socialistic waters and need folks to realize it before we sink.

It depends on whether the economy improves, stays the same, or gets worse between now and next November.

If it fails to improve (and especially if the situation worsens significantly), the GOP will do very, very well.

Depends on if they offer solutions that do not include "Tax Cuts and Expand the Military".

If the economy gets worse people are going to want more social services, and not less. Something the present GOP would not be in favor of.

Huh? If the economy keeps getting worse, more and more people are going to realize that it's specifically because of too many unnecessary social services and the lack of money; i.e. taxes to pay for them. This will be a very good thing for the republicans. Big government is bad government.

I thought conservative ideology was that poor lazy *******s always voted themselves more social services. You seem to be contradicting that mentality.

It is good to see though that you believe Obama did not win by promising people more social services like UHC. Things that lazy poors would vote for.

Today, another thread, right below this one, is once again proclaiming that the gop is "dead." So, to repeat, all polls indicate that a republican will defeat the incumbent democrat in both NJ and VA, making the total 26-24 dems to reps in governorship. me thinks the Daily Kook and Media manipulation matters are really giving their minions a full court press on trying to get this message out since our POTUS #'s are dropping like a Barack.

The last time a Democrat was defeated by a Republican in New Jersey it was a year before the Contract with America Republicans took over Congress. These are harbingers.
