Texas is expected to request $650 million, roughly
$100 million more than Perry initially rejected. At
a “tea party protest” in April, Perry trumpeted his
decision to reject stimulus dollars from the Obama
administration. “I believe the federal government
has become oppressive,” he said, adding that
he might even consider seceding from the Union.

Think Progress » Secessionist Gov. Rick Perry now seeking federal stimulus funds.

I wonder what Governor Perry would say if his request for stimulus money was rejected on the grounds of his earlier secessionist ranting?

The best plan would be to take the money, then secede.

Perry is an easy target. He's a piece of sh*t who has no more desire than being a career politician.

Republicans are such hypocrites. They are all the same. The Obama administration asked the republican governor of AZ if she would like to return the stimulus money based on her comments and those of senator Kyle. Of course she said no.

They love to rant about how much they dislike government, but they are the first ones to line up at the trough when money is being given out.
