Why doesnt the US army have a Base in Israel (Palestinian, enemies)

Couple of months ago, I started a thread about Sri-Lanka and the atrocities committed there on civilian population. It drew only 4 short posts. Another thread about Sudan - 5 posts. What's amazing is that no matter in what context is Israel name mentioned (it may be even for the weather) it will sure draw at least 200 posts.
It is laughable - they always go back to the Liberty 1967 episode as a reason why US should not support Israel. As if nothing else happened in the last 42 years....
Yesterday there were bombings at hotels in Jakarta. How many heated posts it drew? Billions given as foreign aid to Pakistan - (a country which is probably the epicenter of hatred towards America) - nothing, nada. Doesn't bother even our pinky...But just say "Israel" - well, thats a different matter

And bugguy is a good example of a typical illogical Israel hater. The middle east is full of them but it still suprises me to see them here in the states.
i dont know we are pretty busy DOD is trying to stir up some biz in iran, n korea and pakistan, but good idea we will try to "squeeze" it in.

First of all, its not only Israel that gets all the attention, but the middle east as a whole, with iraq and Iran)
You have to understand that The middle eastern Crisis have existed for more than 60 years now.
(the Sudan thing I agree with.. sad and everything, but how controvertial is that)
Giving Pakistan forgien aid, (we dont want the regime to crumble and a taliban or islamic state to be established)
Israel is a nation that claims to be western and modern like US, but still occupies helpless landless palestinians.
