The NRA is/was against Sotamayor and Obama. The NRA lost heavily on both fronts. I am thinking back to the month prior to the General Election they were pouring millions in a negative ad blitz in swing states, OH, PA and they still lost out. They went on Paper just recently saying they do not support Sotamayor. So what, we all know she will be confirmed...
Not losing it's clout, the NRA actually does better with a Democrat in the White House. It's main effect is on elected officials more so than individual citizens.

so what? how does that say the NRA is loosing clout. hell you can't even buy a decent AK 47 or ammo around here. the NRA is very here.we just don't get any news coverage sorta like the TEA PARTYS. the gov news don't like us. who lost? the fight hasn't even started yet wise ass.
Noit if you look at the changes in sates where more and mroe are encting right to carry firerarms when licensed and the recent court decisions. Just look at recent hadngun sales and even ammo shortages.

Well, clout or no clout w/ the NRA . . . the American public still loves the Second Amendment . . . you can't get ammo here in NC . . . it comes in and is grabbed up . . . so someone out there is buying it big time. And since people who buy ammo own firearms . . . I would say We the People are silently taking their stand on the issue.

The NRA is a group of law abiding citizen concerned with losing the right to own guns and protect themselves. The entire control issue is all about people being able to use guns to commit crimes. My question is, out of all the crimes that get committed by people using a gun, what percentage of those people are card carrying members of the NRA?
I don't think it's going to be a very high percentage.....I may be wrong but, I'd be willing to bet I'm not. My point is that for those that favor gun control, their beef is not with the NRA....they should be working with them to come up with solutions they make guns safer, instead of fighting them. It would seem to me that some compromises could be made using technology. Don't they have security devices that unless present, make guns inoperable.....like a ring that must be worn or a pellet (microchip) that's injected into the owners hand.
