Kinda hard to have a civil debate; considering the OP began with insults and assumptions! Many "liberals" are socially progressive and fiscally conservative. Funny how our deficits skyrocketed while Bush and Reagan helped run the show and vastly increase government power and control...seems like a oxymoronic move to me...or an oxycontin moment like with Rush. Time to work together...It is easy to single out certain events to "prove/disprove" one's antaganism toward the opposite viewpoint. We all got in this mess together....the real culprit is GREED....especially corporate Greed and Developer's Greed. We need to wake up to that fact and stop letting Banks, Insurance companies get "too lasrge to fail". Bust them up so we have some competition and then when one fails it is not so catastrophic to the economy and will not cause a ripple effect. Case in point....Wells Fargo taking over Wachovia......totally ludacris that the Feds allow this, after we all saw what happens when all the eggs are placed into one basket. Are some "conservatives" advocating these monopolies and their accompanying GREED?????? I guess if it is YOU and a few others than it is ok.....and forget about what is best for our country and it's citizens. Look how Chinese greed gets us "leaded" toys and toxic drywall; and our priorities are save a buck...put more Americans out of work....soon our country will be called The United States of Wal-Mart...as we drop into second tier status(economically) and hold onto what power we do have ONLY because of military superiority. Rome fell in just the same manner...the door we opened will let China become the pre-eminent economic power in this century and than as they strengthen militarily they will be the next, great super power. Without a sound economy how long will we keep our military dominance???? As we bicker over equal rights and social equality.....Europe too will leave the U.S. in the dust as we blame each other instead of cooperating and forging forward.....for instance 20 plus countries allow gays in their military...yet we are still fighting over it....we cut off our own noses..to spite our face.Future generations and the history books will tell the story of those Judgemental and Greedy people who forsaked the true meaning of being American to line their own pockets and justify their hatred for many of their peers; because they truly feel they are better than other people...very SAD! P.S. What a rambling Rant...LOL.

Don't get too discouraged. Most people on these boards with 10,000+ posts and 5 star reputations are liberals sitting at home complaining about their lives. The rest of us are out working hard or have other lives besides a computer message board.

Most of the threads in this forum are either slamming Obama, liberals, or they pertain to healthcare. I've also noticed that the majority of the hateful threads are not started by liberals, but from the other side.
If you don't like the threads, don't read them.
Disclaimer: I am not a liberal myself, even though it seems that liberalism has become the new communism.
Sorry, but threads like these just can't be allowed to go on. The offensive nature of the thread coupled with the lack of actual debate leads me to believe there is no real use for the thread other than to further divide these two groups of people who are all just Americans. No libs, no cons, just Americans with freedom to think for themselves. Use that freedom, and stop listening to the daily hype. They are just trying to keep you at odds with each other because the government knows when the day comes that we are all working together, their happy existence will be over. Let's help make that happen and stop fighting each other. This one is closed.
