I have been wondering how can the market make large gains this past week when the middle class is hurting.

Well I like many recent college graduates have been waiting for the job market to improve but since institutions like teachers unions protect those who are well pasted retirement, it is not looking good for those who are looking for work.

Not in New York. Taxes are high and real estate prices are falling. Many are upside down in their homes because of home equity loans and many teachers lost a great deal in the market.
