That is exactly what those that support our President asked for when those that lost tried pointing to polls and attempted to grade him when he had only been President for 6 months. Let's see where the country goes before jumping to conclusions. I was against the bailouts as they were done, yet it seems the economy is improving slowly, we shall see if that still holds true in a year. In a rational world we would not expect vast improvements over night to issues that took many years to get to where they are, it will take time and a little patience before the President can address all the issues. He will do good and he will do bad, the same as all those before him, in the end it will be history that judges whether he did more good than bad. What I will say I back the President on 100% is that at least he is willing to try to do something, unlike the man in the office before him, far too much was put on the back burner for far too long.

polls at this point are just used for reflection and so far Obama is doing well. He has signed 12 bills in 6 months and has a 59% approval rating.

Thge average of polls CN talked about today has Obama popularity at just over 50% how. His approval of polices has dropped to 49%. Carter at one time within the first 100 days was highest at 70% approval but like all presdients it dropped as he governed.that is one reason he si scrambling on health care and so is the democratic congress. CNN's oll show that he is losing independent support for healthcare now that decide the elction.

There is a real dichotomy of "personal" approval and "policy" approval. People like him personally, but are opposing his policies of tax and spend.

If that really mattered, wouldn't his approval rating be dropping? The two are NOT mutually exclusive. The polls don't say "personal" approval, they say "job" approval.

It is. Haven't you noticed the recent polls - Rasmussen, Zogby, WaPo, USAToday/Gallup, CNN, Pew all have obama trending down.

Not to mention to Quinnipiac polls in OH & VA that has him around 50%.
