My new study, published by the Pacific Research Institute, shows that -- across four decades -- the costs of government-run health care have risen far more than the costs of private care.
My study compares the cost increases of Medicare and Medicaid with those of all other health care in the United States. The key finding: Since 1970, Medicare and Medicaid's costs have risen one-third more, per patient, than the combined costs of all other health care in America -- the vast majority of which is purchased privately.
In fact, if the costs of Medicare and Medicaid had risen only as much as the costs of all other health care in America, then, instead of costing a combined $807 billion last year, they would've cost a combined $606 billion. That savings of $201 billion would have amounted to more than $1,750 per American household last year alone.
Why don't they fix medicare and social security before they ruin our private healthcare insurance?
The shameful inefficiency of Medicare has led to the increased oldifying of already old people! Over the past 30 years, old people have gotten EVEN MORE OLD Yet we do not realize that the culprit is right there in front of our face. The culprit known as THE GOVERNMENT, which is using Medicare! to increase, our oldness! So that we will be more expensive, and need the government more! Only Ron Paul can stop this scheme in its tracks.
wait what? people with private insurance and Medicare go to same DR a lot....so why does one get charged more? see this is why we need reform and this will get fixed by end of the year once the health care reform bill is passed...

haha. ron paul refused medicare. he treated people for free, rather than taking medicare.
We need to fix way to many other things BEFORE health care. Obama is pulling the same crap he did with the stimulus. Trying to send everyone into panic thinking that we must do this now or the sky will fall. I got news for ya the sky is NOT falling and just like we did NOT need to pass that stimulus when we did this does not need to be done right now either. He is doing EXACTLY what he accused the Republicans of "USING SCARE TACTICS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

welcome to politics, its how things have always worked in DC and nobody will change it....you dont think that Reps didnt milk something as bad as 9/11 to its fullest...with things like the Patriot Act...( The Act increases the ability of law enforcement agencies to search telephone, e-mail communications, medical, financial, and other records)
