One thing that is true (in my opinion) - blue areas are better places to live, generally. More amenities, better schools and colleges, more art, more protected parks and wilderness, fewer people suffering from economic and health hardships, better sex, etc.

Of course, you might prefer Texas.
How so?

Everyone capture this moment in Texas. Remember it always. It will remain evidence of how powerful and great the state was before the dems turn it into a California.

I'm praying Texas will always remain red though.

California is run by democrats! The state votes 66/33 (dem/rep) almost every election. How can you sit there and lie that is the conservative's problem!!?

This state is a classic example of why too much government is dangerous. They have walked the line for years of trying to find the tipping point of tax rates... they have finally reached the point where businesses are giving up and moving out. Businesses move out, jobs move out. Jobs move out, tax revenue falls short.

Get a clue man!
Dude...common sense doesn't work. C'mon. Where have you been?

You can't go broke with that kind of tax base unless you are deliberately trying to (or liberal).
Or it is due to bad policy in general. Making it impossible for the legislature to raise taxes but simple to raise spending would be an indication.

Last I checked the Democrats weren't the one trying to engineer political behavior via various 2/3rds amendments. But, it looks like the insane Republicans in CA love to engineer behavior, so who knows.

And the Dems in CA are as spineless as the Dems in DC, look at the latest budget for evidence of this.

That's a matter of opinion. In my view the blue areas, specially CA is the porno belt. In blue areas there are more weirdos, more homeless, more people all around, less wilderness, more economic hardships (look at CA), and more STDs.

Big governments translate to big budgets, and big budgets require more taxes to sustain them.

The bad news is that Californians (just the liberals) are moving out in droves toward Texas. Once they get there they run for office, and turn Texas into the mess they have just left behind. We have our share of them in Alaska already.

like you have any room to talk..
Alaska gets the highest percentage of federal money than any other state...
so you can sit there on a soap box and point fingers, while if it weren't for all those federal dollars being pumped up there.. there'd be 1/6 the population that there is.. and you'd all still be sh*tting out in the woods...

everyone wants to talk about the liberal spenders.. rah rah rah.. well if we didn't spend money on anything.. we wouldn't have anything..
problem is.. spending is good.. but it's only good if its spent on things that are actually going to be a return on investment..
here in idaho we sit on a huge surplus, and funding anything is like pulling teeth.. and we sit here with crappy roads, best business climate in the nation, but none of the infrastructure to support it..
so.. idaho constantly reels them in.. but can never seem to land the deal...
so there is middle ground on all this
saying liberals spending is the problem is only part of it..
because there's dip sh*t conservatives that have their heads up their rear ends when it comes to being able to have any kind of foresight for the future...
status quo isn't an option anymore!!!
so come up with ideas and contribute.. or continue being the party of no...and lose more elections
