Uhhh, have you been to a hospital any time recently?

It is difficult to find an American Doctor as most are from overseas.

Now do you think they came here because they simply want to treat American patients rather than people from their own country?

No,they came here to make money, once you aren't making the same sort of money they will simply go elsewhere.
When did you read about Britains "Brain Drain"??????? 1969?

It may not be free to you and me but it's essentially free to more and more Americans that do not contribute to the cause.

I agree that there are holes in our insurance system that need and can be filled but I don't agree that the private sector insurance is inefficient or over priced. Medical insurance industry is running at about a 3% profit margin, that is not excessive. Expensive maybe but that was caused mostly by the consumer not involved in the system to be price conscious, medical malpractice insurance and of course our life style.

You see that when procedures are not covered by insurance, prices actually come down such as laser eye and cosmetic surgery. When there is no incentive to be price conscious, it's natural that prices will continue to rise.

To reduce health insurance costs, we must first look at what makes health care more expensive.

Move more toward a consumer driven heath plans.
Tort reform
living a healthy lifestyle.

Not get the gubmint to run it

We call it Obama's health care plan but he even admitted he didn't know what was in it. Is he lying, or does he want this so bad he really doesn't care what's in it?

The Dems plan will allow private insurance,it just cannot provide any medical services that are actually needed.

Then when they get married and start a family in a few years they will buy insurance.
Frankly that is not smart. Young people are far more likely to be involved in accidents ect. Anyway, under a universal system younger people pay less as they tend to earn less.

Why would trading one set of bureaucrats for another solve the supposed problem??

Also which are more likely to be open to reversing a decision, private for profit companies or a federal government agency?

Have you ever dealt with the federal government,I have,it was quite appalling to watch how they interacted with the people they are there to supposedly help.

A health board, ran by the GOVERNMENT is far more likely to make decsions based on medical criteria whereas a for profit insurance company is going to make decisions only based on profit for them.

From the Washington Post:

"Economists generally agree that if costs are to be brought under control, someone must say no to care that doctors propose and patients demand. So far, that role has fallen primarily to insurers. "Private insurers have effectively engaged in rationing, so they're doing the dirty work for everybody else," said Jeff D. Emerson, a former health plan chief executive. "It's a thankless job . . . but somebody has to do it or health care will be even more expensive than it is now.""
