"And parents NEVER take their children out of school for a family vacation to visit relatives ... noooooooo! That would mean that he would miss all that Madrassa training wouldn't it!!!!!
please get lives."
Why all the anger?
probably because stupidity is in epidemic proportions!!
I am not an Obama fan but according to the OP he states "capsules". Maybe he is not referring specifically to the Apollo 11 but others ones that come down in that area.
To quote Obama's EXACT words - "I grew up in Hawaii, as many of you know, and I still recall sitting on my grandfather’s shoulders when those capsules would land in the middle of the Pacific".
Obama DID NOT say that he was in Hawaii when the first moon landing happened in 1969. He was saying that he was in Hawaii when OTHER Apollo capsules landed in the Pacific.
Apollo lunar missions 16 and 17 splashed down in the Pacific in the year 1972. Obama would have lived in Hawaii with his grandparents in 1972.
Please be careful not to echo and spread so called "facts" aka urban myths that you read on right wing Obama hate sites such as WND and FreeRepublic. At least try to verify the claims and do a tiny bit of research.
The video has been uploaded by many others and still available on YouTube should you wish to go back and listen carefully to Obama's words. Just search for Obama Apollo 11. You may also use Google to do a quick search for Apollo Pacific splashdowns.

I honestly don't know if it's just issue of education levels (having not fully developed one's analytical mind, either through formal or self-directed education) or simply blinding oneself to hearing the truth because one comes to such an issue with a predisposed bias.
In the end, though, I find it very disturbing how easily flat out lies and propaganda are spread in social conservative circles. It's as if there is an entire industry built around creating and perpetuating these falsehoods and no one takes the time to question whether they are based in any factual element.
At the very least, in recent days the birther movement has been exposed as a fraud in the light of day. For the sake of our nation and, frankly, the safety of our president, let's just hope the media stays vigilant on these fringe elements that are so easily manipulated by false propaganda and, perhaps moreso, the elements that knowingly create this propaganda.
"there's an old thread on this.... slow "news" day at WND."
Please provide a link to the existing thread. thanks
