For years people have been fired for who they chose to be with in their bedroom, guess this is no different, except they are straight...

If anything, the 5 council members should be thrown out like the garbage they are, and the mgr. should have his position reinstated. Those idiots shouldn't be sticking their noses into people's bedrooms.

WOW, this is incredibly stupid. The manager's personal life is only his business. A shame people are this judgmental.

As others have said - he should file suit. They have NO RIGHT to be involved with who this person marries!
It sounds like that town MADE it their right. It is their town, not yours, the people obviously didn't want that so let THEM do it. Don't like it, don't move there or visit.

I live in Fort Myers and this does not surprise me. And personally who really cares. She is not the town mananger. Sure would like to know who found out. Probably one of the other council members watching her video and thought damn, he's got a hot wife I am jealous, I am telling.

Janke and his wife are gonna be laughing all the way to the bank over this. All kinds of media cant get to Ft Myers Beach to cover this story fast enough.

And Ms Moore couldnt have bought this kind of publicity.....

Local news getting reaction from the folks, doesnt sound very favorable for the city council........

What if his blushing bride was a Ann Coulter?

If a civic leader does something that reflects badly on the city he represents even if legal (what if he was a big supporter of David Duke? or God forbid was against homo nuptials?) they should be abel to fire him. You lefties would be the first to ax anyone that steps out of your line.

Got to sum up my feelings on this topic in two points:

1. The reason they decided to fire him is somewhat distressing. No one should be judged on job performance based on who they are married to.

2. Per his contract, and the fact that Florida is a right to work state (at least it was last time I talked to my parents), this gentleman will have legal grounds to file a lawsuit. While the council acted poorly, they did indeed act legally.

I am sure that this publicity will do two things for him, he will most likely find another job from a city who wants to show how open minded they are, and his wife will now have a lot more exposure (no pun intended) for free due to this story.
