That is false. Obama clearly indicated that he did not think race played a role in this incident, but rather people mistakenly thought so because of prior racial profiling by police. Have you actually listened to his comments?
...and yet 0bama went on a ten minute rant about the injustices of the police committing targeted racial profiling and harassment of blacks and Latinos. 0bama went on further to discuss the hurdles the nation needs to climb in race relations. If it was not about race, then why did 0bama go on and on about racial relations? 0bama made it about stupid policemen and their racial profiling of black men, plain and simple.
0bama is clearly not a positive force for mending racial relations in this country, he foments racial problems. It was a display of poor statesmanship for the chief law enforcement officer in the nation to fan the flames of discontent with the police. There is a small segment in our society who are always in a constant adversarial relationship with the police, and law enforcement, and for the president to add fuel to the fire is unconscionable.
Just admit it, 0bama should never have opened his mouth beyond stating he did not have the facts.
And now the fool of a president claims some unknown culprits have pumped up the volume and inflamed racial tensions, when he was the idiot who did it.
I could live with being embarrassed. The man scares me to death..! He is moving as fast as he can to destroy our country, and if he succeeds with some of the junk he is trying to shouve down our throats, we are finished as a nation.
We as a nation elected him, we deserve what we get. IMHO.
I didn't vote for that bubble head! And remember, up until election day, there was all kinds of "voter fraud" going on. After he won, we never heard another word.
just answering the post, although i think this is more of an issue of a president misusing his presidential power to defend a friend without even knowing the facts of the case.
I think that it was a setup as well. And it's backfiring in a way he never thought it would.
Funny, so did I. If you compare the other answers he gave regarding health care to his response to the question about Prof Gates, he was very well prepared and even used humor. He even had a prepared statement about racial problems in the country. Maybe he assumed one of the reporters would ask about it, since the story was in the news already.

this was August 4, 2008. Gee, was he President then?
What blows my mind is there are so many who still believe there is a political solution to the darkness that is destroying America.
