...Here come the "Obesity Crisis!"

It's been on the news all week and Bill Clinton was talking about it yesterday. 2/3's of Americans are overweight or obese. We're consuming 250 more calories today than we did 20 years ago. Everything is super-sized, including us! "Interest Groups" have been feeding the media "data" for several years now and, suddenly, it's an important issue.

Why? Because of the expense of health care! All we lard-butted American's are costing ourselves billions! Something MUST be done and it MUST be government which does it!

So..how do y'all feel about that? Is this something the government should be involved in? So what if a free people want to overeat? Don't they have that right? If not, why not? If so, why? After all, it costs us all when you have that second Big Mac, doesn't it?

Think this through....what's the end game in this "crisis?" Government regulation of what you can eat and how much you can eat, for your own good, of course. YOUR health, the life-style decisions YOU make, are now a government problem because government knows better than you about what's good for you. We can already see where this is headed. Los Angeles has banned new fast food joints in the "fat" side of town (which, of course, does not include Beverly Hills). New York City has banned trans-fats. There are several bills in both Congress and state Legislature's to impose a "fat" tax on those evil, sugary soft drinks and high calorie, high fat foods. Some call it a "Twinkie Tax." Your kids are increasingly being forced to drink healthy juice and healthy snacks at school, whether they like them or not. Arkansas is measuring school kids body fat and warning the parents their kids need to be slimmer. They're also teaching "body awareness" in Kindergarten. (Thank you Mr. Conservative Mike Huckabee for that!)

How far are you willing to go? How much of your freedom of choice are you willing to give up to save tax dollars? When is enough...enough? Would you go so far as to ban fat people from McDonalds for their own good? How about government mandated diets and exercise routines to get health insurance? Will you tolerate or support the same high taxes on junk food that you supported for cigarettes? Should fat people have to eat outside? Should a slim, trim, sexy body be a requirement for graduation from public schools? Should fat kids be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities as "punishment" for not losing weight? Should parents be fined for their overweight children?

These are questions we'll be answering the next few years. Where do YOU stand?

Well, here is what you need to do. Throw away your supermarket store card and really think about the purchases you put on your credit card. I'm not kidding. The national healthcare database was sold to the American public as a way to move your medical records from doctor to doctor but here's what Feds do with databases - THEY MATCH THEM TO OTHER DATABASES. It would be quite easy for them to obtain records of your food purchases as recorded every time you use your supermarket store card, match them to your history in the national healthcare database, have some Obamacare bureaucrat analyze that match and deny or ration your medical treatment as a way for the federal government to control what you put in your mouth.

You might want to check with your supermarket and see just exactly what they are allowed to do now with that data and whether you have the right to ask them to delete what's in there now.

And for those skinny pooh-poohers, just wait until they obtain your motor vehicle violation records, and those of your family, append them to your national healthcare history and deny or ration your treatment for your risky behavior. DUIs, speeding, running red lights can be viewed as impacts on number of years you are expected to live and we know that is part of the cost/treatment formula to ration healthcare.

Maybe they'll obtain your cell phone records, and those of your kids, match them to GPS/Easy Pass data to find if you and your kids are on your cell phones when you drive, talking or texting, append it to your healthcare records (risky behavior) and then provide that info to car insurance companies to modify your behavior. So, not only will your healthcare reflect risky behavior but your car insurance may go up, too.
