Then things like infections will be treated sooner when they are still inexpensive to treat. As it is now they wait and get dragged in on deaths door after sepsis has set in and then you are dealing with HUGE hospital bills and that the rest of us end up paying for.

I have worked in heathcare in a hospital for almost 30 yrs and believe me the people we see now are much sicker then when I began and often it is sepsis because they could not afford treatment when it would have been cheaper. They end up in ICU on life support for weeks, some live many die and in the end there is a huge unpaid hospital bill that as I said we all end up paying be it in taxes or the increase in our own medical insurance and costs, We do pay so don't kid yourself that any change will be more expensive as we do pay now. Wouldn't it make sense to pay for care in the early days of an illness when it would be cheaper?

I won't even hit on the fact that or emergency rooms are being misused by people that doctors will not see so where is it saving money there?

I hope you do not feel if you can not afford medical care that you should then be left to die ?

I know people that would rather die, than be lumped into some category of people that scam the system. They have no money to pay for their treatment ( I have a friend with Hep c, got through a blood transfusion years ago) that is having liver issues. he can not afford the treatment. he wont put his family through the collection calls, and garnishments and threats made when they cant pay. Breaks my heart. but yea, some do think this way. I dont want to be a burden ( by taxpayers paying my unpaid bills) if I get sick. I have problems right now only surgery will cure, but I dont have insurance, so I will just deal with it.

I am a diabetic, as a result, I take multiple medications and require test strips to test my blood. I got laid off in March and have no insurance, yet I have plenty of options.Walmart sells my meds without needing insurance for $4, Walgreens has "minute clinics" that will charge you anywhere from $25 to $100 for Dr visits. I can get by, and if there is an emergency, I can go to an emergency clinic that charges $50. Anyone can avail themselves of these services without demanding everyone else pay for it.

First step was Medicare, a Socialist Program the GOP has always been against.

In a perfect world your opinion may be plausible........but we don't live in a perfect world! What about those who have been working for years and have been recently laid off from their jobs because of this bad economy and as a result of these lay offs have lost their health coverage? Should those people suffer because an employer decided to take their job?

I met a European today who bragged about how many months and months pregnant women can receive full salaries there without going back to work, how difficult it is for businesses to fire employees, all the vacation time mandated by the government, etc. She sounded like a school kid bragging about how easy it was to slack off in class. I abhor that lazy, underachiever mentality!!!

We need to keep the government from becoming the nanny and consequently keep the U.S. the most competitive and efficient economy in the world!

You are referring to the Preamble, an introduction. Definition of preamble: preliminary introduction, usually to a formal document .

Or how about both: promote and provide? Even better. Thanks.

Exactly as in all that post cedes.

So they are wrong then? They said promote, then provide? Or maybe you have problem with the definition of "promote"?

Got education? Thanks, no thanks, maybe? Nahh, it all depends on what I mean as "got" right? Thanks... have a nice day, toodles!

Exactly the world is not a perfect place and just because some people have been LUCKY SO FAR and still have their jobs in spite of this terrible economy does not mean they should be so INDIFFERENT to others that have lost their jobs and healthcare! I try to be humble in my humility towards others problems.........never know when the day will come and those that still have jobs will go to work and find out they are being laid off.
