It looks like the chances for a public option are fading. I certainly hope so.

Bipartisan negotiations on the Senate Finance Committee are moving closer to eliminating two health care provisions favored by many Democrats – a mandate on employers to provide insurance or pay a penalty, and a government insurance option, a senator and health care insiders said Monday...“If it is to be a bipartisan package, it’s going to be co-ops, not public plan and some middle ground on employer mandates..."

Sorry, but it's just one committee that seems to be dropping the public option. That committee is made up of 3 Blue Dog Dems, 1 moderate GOP member, and 2 solid right GOP members. So naturally, they don't represent the American public.

The HELP version will win out over the Finance Committee version.

They want a C option. A mix of both worlds.

They might as well just scrap the whole thing then. The rest of it ain't worth doing. I will call my rep and tell him to vote no on it in the house.

Maybe they don't represent YOU but moderates represent the country far more realistically than idealogues like you on either side of the aisle.

But by all means, revel in your delusions and partisanship!

The Senate Finance plan will never make it through the House and probably not even the Senate. It is dead on arrival. We have compromised all we should. Remember we started from a position of a single payer system. I didn't even like the "public option" thing but we had to take that as a compromise. Now they even did away with that. Just kill the whole thing and call it a day.
