In the end he gets it. The only Republican in the Senate Judiciary Committee to approve Sonia Sotomayor for SCJ....

To paraphrase he basically said that this is not about partisan politics, but whether Sotomayor is qualified to be on the bench of the supreme court, to which he gives an unequivocal 'yes'......

THIS is what the question is when we are going through the vetting process for a Supreme Court Justice.... We don't look at whether we agree with their politics or rulings, but whether the justice has a habit of unsound rulings and legislating from the bench.

I respect Graham for getting this right and I hope politicians from BOTH sides of the aisle can learn something from this...

Graham and Sotomayor are both racist liberals, so it's like two peas in a pod.

Yes, and per the WaPo, among the six GOP'ers who voted against her, there were "Two of the veteran GOP senators who voted against her, Charles E. Grassley (Iowa) and Orrin G. Hatch (Utah), have never before opposed a Supreme Court nominee." Way to go, partisan hacks.

The Right is so filled with hate-mongers, anyone within the party who doesn't toe the line to their hateful methods will be declared a "RINO" and run out on a rail. Just look at the very first reply in this thread for evidence.

Lindsey Graham is a RINO because he said that Ron Paul does not represent the Republican party.

The left like Graham because he, like SotoMayor, is a racist. Plus, he represents WAR just like Obama does.

I may not always agree with Senator Graham but I do respect him. He knows the difference between being a Statesman and being a hack politician.

From what I hear from the people he (supposedly) represents in South Carolina, I think Lindsay will be looking for a new line of work soon.

Pandering for votes from the minorities is not an act of courage. Of course, perhaps he really believes that a "wise latina" is smarter than him given ihs lack of pigmentation.

You cant explain this to the looney left. They shout out that their opposing ideology is filled with hate when they cannot even describe what that ideology is or what party truly represents it. The looney californian leftnuts are better off sticking to their own warped reality.

From what I understand though, it has ZERO to do with this.... They had issues with him for sure. I haven't really checked in on South Carolina politics recently to find out if that's still the case, but I'll take your word for it...
