They are, for those who don't know

Ask a question - Like, "Is there global warming" or "Did a man really rise from the dead, or live inside the belly of a fish, or did man really begin with one man from where a woman came from his body"

Do background research on the subject - Like, "CO2 is a greenhouse gas" and "What are the levels of CO2 in history, and what were their effects" or "Do people really rise from the dead? Has anyone in modern history lived inside a fish for a week, etc"

Construct a hypothesis - "I believe that large amounts of CO2 release in short terms to the atmosphere can increase global average temperatures, thus changing global climate patterns"

Test your hypothesis by doing research

Analyze your data and form a conclusion

Communicate your results so that others can test your theory

So no, Global warming isn't a religion, it hasn't been disproved, and there are large amounts of evidence proving it. Most scientists believe that global climate change is real, its happening, and we are either contributing to it, or causing it.

I'm not advocating destroying our economy because of it, or dramatically changing our lifestyles. There is no reason why, in a responsible way, to make less of an impact on our planet.

If you come from premise of theier being a GOD who can make those things happen, it's very logical.

If you don't believe in God, it doesn't make sense to you.

at least their religion is based on facts, something people who follow a jewish carpenter and part-time magician don't have. science is great.

Quite a bit of hypocrisy, IMHO.

Next.
Did you actually read my post? I ask because you quoted it above and then wrote on a completely unrelated topic.

I never said anything about "not liking a study" or funding from oil. Nor for that matter did I ever suggest that all climatology funding is legitimate.

All I pointed out was that a geologist who looks at rocks all day has absolutely no qualifications for commenting on a completely separate branch of science.

Perhaps we should see what ecologists have to say about quantum mechanics while we're at it.

See, that way it won't matter which way the temperature goes, they'll still be right.

WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!
Being vastly educated on this subject, I am sure you are well aware that in scientific circles it has always been called climate change.

Global warming was something picked up by the media a couple decades ago.

LOL whine on global warming deniers. Your party was shown the door last November. Change is coming, including government mandates and Cap & Trade. Deal with it.

Let's me see: I don't belong to any political party so, "my party" was not shown to the door last November -

And, the so-called Global Warming is a ruse - and more and more people around the world are coming to realize it - and those on the left fear losing control over this issue - and they may, in fact, lose control over it.

That is a good thing

I find it rather ironic that an anthropogenic climate change purporter named "rlchurch" would make a reply, in a thread comparing global warming to religion, that calls all nonbelievers 'deniers.'

You'd probably be surprised to find out that a lot of the smog you see in L.A. has crossed the ocean from China...

I remember when L.A. had real smog... 3rd stage smog alerts literally kept us indoors all day at school. People having a lot of difficulty breathing... What L.A. is experiencing now (especially by the beach) is nothing compared to what it used to be like, and up to 1/3 of that smog is imported.
LOL. Yes, I know the beach cities don't have to deal with the same amount of smog as the inland communities. (Although those warm Santa Ana winds sure like to push all the junk in the air towards us.)

Like I previously mentioned, I know that the smog was a lot worse back in the day. It is still frustrating though when I can't see the mountains because of the smog. I was just trying to make a point that people in small towns might feel differently about the subject if the air pollution was visable to them.

Thanks for the link BTW. Interesting.

Society almost seems to be regressing.
