If somebody steps in front of my moving vehicle I will try to avoid him but I will not put myself, my passengers or other motorists in danger to do so. Now if the somebody is a Moose all bets are off. Hitting a moose at speed will get you killed.

America should count it's blessings to have the kind of police force we do. There will always be bad eggs who should (and will) be punished but by and large I have the highest respect for our men in blue. It is completely wrong to say all cops are thugs.
LOL Did you hear about the home invasion ring operating in the Chicago Police Department? And then there's Maryland's police...doing all sorts of illegal things, being violent...shall we also discuss the Atlanta Police who killed an elderly woman than planted drugs to try to make it look like they did nothing wrong?

It's still not as scary as a bunch of guys in uniform with machine guns in the back of a truck shooting everything that moves in the Favelas of Rio. So thats a couple of guys in in 3 departments; I guess that means all 500,000 plus cops in the country are crooks? You are probably sore over the cops taking your bong or something.

Did a google search of Chicago police home invasion and it turned up nothing.

Whats also funny is you take events that are spread out over YEARS and try to make it seem like they all just happened. Nice try but FAIL.

Part of the "Special Operations Section" which has been disbanded. Dozens Of Cases Dropped Because Of Four Cops - cbs2chicago.com (http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/Chicago.Police.Cook.2.332152.html - broken link)

In what way did I make it sound like all of this happened at once? The fact this stuff has been going on for years and the cases I cited are but the tip of the iceberg, makes it worse.

There's thousands of cases of police brutality every year in the U.S. They aren't all bad but even the "good" ones don't speak out or worse, back the bad ones.

...or it shows these are isolated incidents that only happen every few years in a country of 350 million people with tens of thousands of independent law enforcement agencies....

Which is pretty damn good in an imperfect world.

Umm, no, many go unexposed. Incidents like the corruption in Atlanta's police department (which resulted in a woman being murdered by police) were only exposed by chance. Once that one incident was exposed it was discovered just how rampant the corruption was for years...
