The only people still making mad money in this country are those profiting from others pain, be they defense contractors or health care insurance companies.
Which is exactly the goal of the Dems. Offer a public option that is cheaper than private insurance, yet does not have to be profitable because it will be taxpayer subsidized, which will drive private companies out of business since it is impossible to compete with someone who does not have to make a profit since taxpayers are covering the shortfalls. Then once all the private companies fold, Big Daddy Government can then announce their plans to socialize medicine COMPLETELY, their ultimate goal, even though they constantly lie about not wanting socialized medicine.

Where did you read that Congress is exempt from the proposed public plan?

I know they are in a federal insurance "exchange" already.

Why would they switch carriers if they are satisfied with their current coverage?

The new plan is for the serfs. The serfs that can't afford or qualify for private insurance.

Ozzie679, the bill is not available to view, but I can gaurantee that their plan is superior, otherwise, they wouldn't exempt themselves from the plan. Can't you see a Representative or a Senator waiting in line in the waiting room with the rest of us, yea, sure, you betcha!!

Also, the President and Congress, in the event of a medical emergency, should proceed to the nearest hospital and sit in the damned waiting room, just like the rest of us.

Actually Ozzie, the serfs will be all Americans within 5 years after they drive the insurance companies out of business.

All this exemption talk is just a rumor.

If they have good insurance, why would thy want to change it?

Wait in line? Who doesn't wait in line to see the doctor? If they aren't waiting in the waiting room, it's because of who they are. Perks of the job.
