You can totally disagree with someone without demonizing them also though, like mature adults should do. According to some religions they believe that a child becomes a child at conception, so whether the abortion happens in the first week or you kill it after it is born it is the same. It is hard to find a compromise with them.

But what they can do is realize that not everyone believes the same way that they do, that what they are saying is not proven fact and they can't force other people to believe that way, so demonizing the opposition makes them look like desperate loon jobs.

Is Lou Dobbs a demonizer or a journalist? He is a journalist.
Yes, a good journalist exposes the truth, but Lou Dobbs doesn't do that. He only raises questions that he is unable to answer. That's what his entire schtick is all about: Fear-mongering, scaring his viewers and listeners, and demonizing certain groups of people. It's pretty weak journalism, if one can even call it journalism.

Forget about compromising, that's not the issue.

You have every single right to stand up for your value and defend them.
The issue is the way to discuss issues.

Republicans always use the tactics of
"destroy the enemy before it destroy you"
Call it muslims, chinese, mexicans, socialists, democrats, pacifists, blacks, hispanics, californians, people in favor of universal health care, people that believe in government investing in our country, Hollywood and absolutely anybody that promotes an idea that is "left wing".

Doesn't matter who it is, it's always the same tactic
"Destroy them before they destroy us"

I don't know about him,
but a journalist NEVER takes information from an internet website (a non reliable source) as a fact and say
"This is true, until somebody proves that is false"

I'm pretty sure that Lou Dobbs has done that before.

No. Not at all. I was pointing out where it all seemed to start, back in the 1980's when Jerry Fallwell(d) started to politicize religion in hopes of overturning Roe v Wade, and it's been downhill ever since. Any politician who doesn't agree with overturning Roe may as well eat dung and die as far as those guys are concerned. Attempts over the past 25 years to meet in the middle have been ridiculed by the all-or-none extremists who seem to have the loudest and vilest mouths of all. If the far right doesn't get it's way, they unleash the most hateful stuff ever seen in our politics. The rightwing mouthpieces are still at it, though some of the GOP'ers in congress seem to be toning it down a bit.

I honestly do not remember the left side of the aisle behaving anywhere near as hatefully as the right, and to this day, the so-called "liberal" voices like Olbermann, Maddow and the more centrist voices like like much of the 3 major networks and CNN don't begin to compare to the barrage of lies, spin and hatred spewing from the mouths of Coulter, Malkin, Beck, Savage, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. Nothing on the left even comes close to that. If you have an example, provide it, else if the shoe fits, the GOP gets to wear it until it pinches so tightly they're willing to try sandals instead of jackboots.

We believe that those that support abortions are baby killers, because we believe it's a child inside a woman, and not just tissue. We believe that the left is moving towards socialism and eventually to fascism, because we see the leftist government taking more and more every day.

Some of that isn't name calling. It's just calling it like we see it.
Abortion is an excellent example of of a chance to compromise. YOU BELIEVE something, other people don't. By who's standard should laws be set, if at all? After thinking about how it effects society, individual rights, other peoples rights, etc. it's clear to see that unless abortions are being forced on those who BELIEVE as you state, that those people are not being harmed, their rights are not being harmed, by someone else having an abortion. Conversely, if nobody was ever allowed to have an abortion no what they believed that individuals rights are being harmed, and when people feel that they have no individual rights (especially something as personal and physical as pregnancy and childbirth) society is going to suffer.

There is really only one way to compromise on this issue without causing an uprising and chaotic society, and that is to keep it a personal choice but allow those who oppose it to share their views and attempt to convince people to not have an abortion, which is pretty much what we have today. But some people don't care about that, they only want what they want, and compromise isn't an option.

And referring to people who understand this as "baby killers" pretty much guarantees that you will be thought a fool.

There was nothing more horrific to me than the GOP national convention. These old white men mocking community organizers with big, belly busting guffaws. It was sickening and revealed that they truly have no concept of what it's like when a community loses its employment base.

Desperate people needed help. Obama helped when he was a young man. They mocked him for it and still manage to believe they wallk in the path of Christ.

What were they doing at that age?

Hypocrits. The demonizing really has to stop, but its intensity seems far greater from the right (at least recently, perhaps because they are "in the wilderness", as it were).
