MONTPELIER, Vermont (AP) -- Vermont senators voted Friday to call for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, saying their actions in Iraq and the U.S. "raise serious questions of constitutionality."

The non-binding resolution was approved 16-9 without debate -- all six Republicans in the chamber at the time and three Democrats voted against it. The resolution was the latest, symbolic, effort in the state to impeach Bush. In March, 40 towns in the state known for its liberal leaning voted in favor of similar, non-binding resolutions at their annual meetings. State lawmakers in Wisconsin and Washington have also pushed for similar resolutions.

I am certainly not a fan of the current White House but this is just stupid. Only gives people like Sean Hannity ammunition while doing nothing.

Just continue to let Bush and his band of religious nut jobs self destruct.

The Socialist Republic of Vermont should be encouraged to continue with their efforts at sucession from the US.

Wasn't there a New Mexico senator who tried to bring an impeachment resolution to the floor, but it was killed on a technicality?
Seems like impeachment has been discussed for at least a year now.
It might be gathering steam, I dunno.
Snippet:
DC Democrats still put forth anti-impeachment arguments--particularly the old saw that going after Bush would just give the presidency to Cheney. Activists have countered with an "Impeach Cheney First!" campaign and a reminder that the Constitution in no way prohibits holding more than one official to account at the same time. They've also picked up an argument made by Daniel Ellsberg, of Pentagon Papers fame, who says it was the threat of impeachment that got Richard Nixon to bend to pressure from Congress to wind down the Vietnam War. "If you want to move Bush on Iraq," says Ellsberg, "get serious about impeachment."

Maybe Senators from Vermont and Rosie should band together.

There are many people that would like to see Bush removed from office.

Have anything of substance that you'd like to add, spunky1?

And Leaving Florida we do agree on one thing. Many people would like to see Bush removed, and a lot of it has to do with revenge for Clintons impeachment!

New Mexico and Washington are both looking at and calling for impeachment. I believe an old law and one unfortunately I can't find on the net gives the individual States the right in calling for impeachment, which then puts the responsibility on the Congress to make further inquiry and forces them to take up the issue.

Here is an excellent article on some of the issues, and some good citations:
