The road to hell is generally paves with good intentions, most of them from Democratic administrations. The "Kill Granny" campaign needs to occur, not ignored or derided as racist, because once laws like this are on the books, government-encouraged/mandated euthanasia is where it will inevitably lead.

Baby boomers wake up! The largest generation ever is slowly headed for the Exit sign. Imagine waking up at the age of 70 to a splitting headache, and a week or so later being told you have a brain tumor. It's operable, but instead of a doctor, an end-of-life counselor shows up in your room, explaing the decision has been made that it's just simply not cost-effective to attempt to extend your life another 10 years. Instead, they have wonderful drugs to make your remaining days bearable.

If the government can justify taking your property away, they will easily be able to justify taking your life away. It will "distateful", like abortion, but legal.

Government healthcare means limited and rationed healthcare, and the younger will always win out over the older.

This administration wants to take over another industry and have the power to dictate every aspect of your life. Only a fool would call such discussions of such import racist.

YES! When such total stupidity is put forth (Obama wants to KILL GRANDMA) then it HAS to be racism or admitting that Republican who say this are too stupid to breath!

Treatment that would extend someone's life another 10 years isn't the issue. That treatment would be given. Expensive treatment that would extend someone's life another 10 weeks without any improvement in the quality of life is the issue.

Used wrong quote but YOUR words in the first quote above proves that you belive he may ration health care.Moderator cut: orphaned comment

And I never apologize to anyone who hates America and Americans as much as those who oppose health care reform and encourage the lies about Obama's plan...especially when their party has no plans, never had plans, doesn't want plans and doesn't give a damn about the average American.

Couldn't pick anything but the neutral answer since the wording says seniors would be 'put to death'.
Did you really mean sick seniors (seniors usually mean 65 and over and sometimes even 50) will be euthanized?
I do believe there would be much consideration before expensive/excessive measures would be taken to provide short periods of extra time or even longer periods but in only a vegetative or low functioning state.

Don't talk about Virginia Foxx or Jean Schmidt that way. It's not nice.

How can anyone believe that universal health coverage will lead to the government killing people to save money? It's preposterous. Do they have anything other than their imaginations to back up their beliefs?

No, they have no proof at all....just their hatred which propels stupid ideas like Obama's plan will kill off grandma. That idea either means they're braindead or racist...why else would anyone make such a preposterous statement??

Will the government literally kill them? No. That's an insane and laughable thought.

Will care be rationed, indirectly leading to their deaths? Possibly. And that will become more and more likely in the near future as the baby boomers continue to age.

IBDeditorials.com: Editorials, Political Cartoons, and Polls from Investor's Business Daily -- How House Bill Runs Over Grandma

Quote:
At a town hall meeting at AARP headquarters in Washington, D.C., President Obama was asked by a woman from North Carolina if it was true "that everyone that's Medicare age will be visited and told they have to decide how they wish to die."

At first, the president joked that not enough government workers existed to ask the elderly how they wanted to die. The idea, he said, was to encourage the use of living wills and that critics were misrepresenting the intent of the "end of life" counseling provided for in the House bill. He did not say, "No, they wouldn't be contacted."
See how he side-steps the question.

Under obamacare, counseling is required.
