having a vegetarian/vegan diet is the best thing you can do for your body and the planet, however the meat industry is a billion dollar industry, and we are light years away from ever defeating it(because making profits for the wealthy is more important then anything else in life, especially here in America)[quote]

Excellent point. There are many alternatives and humans are supposed to be capable of empathy and reason. I doubt Jesus would have slaughtered a cow. [there are plenty of alternatives to eating a tortured piece of animal flesh]

PETA.... People Eating Tasty Animals

Find a mirror, open your mouth and observe...See those big wide teeth in the back ?? they're known as molars and they are for grinding up plant material..See the pointy ones in the front ?? They're designed to cut and tear thru animal flesh.

You could make a strong argument that to NOT eat meat is to go against Gods wishes and designs. Take note I said you could... I'm not going to...I've got to tend to the slab of meat I'm cooking for dinner.

Kill...and Grill it. Thanks Ted for that one

Cows produce methane. Methane causes global warming. I am doing my part by eating as many cows as I can.

Boca Burgers are very good. I don't eat red meat, as I've seen cows before going to slaughter and you see the fear in their eyes. How horrible.

I've really wanted to become a vegetarian, but I still crave poultry or fish.

If I had to kill it, I wouldn't eat it. So...all in all...I'd be happy if they stopped killing animals and just went into mass production on soy products.

Lightbulb lol

For the above post talking about having molars Ever heard of evolution- its the reason we have wisdom teeth pulled out-they no longer serve a purpose, just like oversized teeth and large grasping claws you can kill with. People are supposed to be more highly evolved. College Biology 101.

religious people are always the first to promote the suffering and torture of innocent animals, after all it did say in Genesis "God gives man dominon over animals" and Jesus did eat fish

I've been a vegetarian for 18+ years now, so no, I don't think eating meat is humane.

There's nothing about killing and eating animals as long as the animal is treated reasonably well when it was alive and its death is as fast and painless as possible. Now there are legitimate concerns about concerns on some farms, the use of antibiotics and hormones, and on slaughterhouse conditions but this is no reason to say eating meat in general is bad.

After all, humans evolved to be omnivores, not herbivores. My mom is a Buddhist and is vegetarian because of her religion and I know some Hindus who are too and I respect that. I personally cannot imagine being vegetarian for more than a week. A veggie burger just ain't as great as a normal one.

that is the way they rationalize. I agree with your post. I also agree that animals have souls. People that are so worried about regulating abortion should wonder that the animal has feelings. They eat dog in China; that doesn't mean it is right....JMO.
