If you could enlighten all of us with a cohesive, reasonable theory of how this so-called fraud happened, that might actually warrant a response. You, like Orly, are choosing instead the splutter strategy. But, but, but, but, but....
But....maybe the grandparents put in the announcement.
But...maybe Obama revoked his citizenship in Indonesia when he was a child.
But...maybe just because other Presidents had foreign-born fathers it won't matter now.
But...maybe women are second-class citizens, so the citizenship of Obama's mother doesn't matter.
But....
Throw the kitchen sink at it. It's all irrelevant. Obama was born in Hawaii. His mother was an American. You can't disprove the truth.
You forgot:
But. . . he's colored!
Funny how these folks probably never asked for proof of birth from McCain. Or anybody else, for that matter.
I'm just tired of reading all of these posts about birthers. I just wish Obama would produce his long form BC, his school records, etc... just like other presidents have and put this to bed for good.
Have other Presidents? Maybe they had short forms too. I'm being serious, I've never in my life seen any Presidents proof of birth and have no idea what they have used to prove citizenship. Or if they even did.
Oh - the Liberal belief in the Infallibility of the State.
Now, it all makes sense.
No, you're stretching here. There is a chasm between pointing out that there is no reason to doubt the veracity of a state when it comes to a specific issue, and a belief, liberal or otherwise, in the infallibility of said state. You are making an accusation without a logical or argumentative basis.

Congress held hearings on the eligibility of McCain. Some questioned it because he was born in Panama. Democratic and a Republican members of Congress both voiced concern about McCain's eligibility.

do you have a source showing that members of congress voicing concern about his eligibility?
the hearings were to nip any issues in the bud, because everyone knew he was eligible, but lawsuits had been filed (and dismissed, gasp!) and precedent had not been set. congress was concerned about questions arising about his eligibility, not his eligibility itself. to my knowledge no one in congress said they even thought that he might not be eligibile.
the resolution to affirm his eligibility was sponsored by, among other, obama and clinton.
in any case, mccain was actually born in another country. obama was not. were there hearings to affirm the eligibility of any other president who was born in the u.s.? where is gwb's birth certificate?

To the point of passing a law to make sure McCain would be eligible.
Yes, but a binding resolution if McCain would have actually won the presidency or should win it in the future. Which gives it the impact of a law, because it establishes a legal precedent should future candidates have similar birth issues.
