Talk about conniving, dishonest and devious.

That is all they have - they can't discuss the content of the bill(S).
Those Dem Congress critters haven't read the bill so they can't discuss it and that leaves them happy to get yelled at so they don't have to admit they know nothing that is going on.

I don't see pharmaceuticals or insurance companies at the above site but it does list some very conservative foundations.

This site also shows some funding:

This site outlines AFP's strategy:

And it points to lobbyist Dick Armey:

As for Freedomworks, it's chair is Dick Armey:

Freedomworks was behind some of the disuptions:

And they sent out a memo as to how best disrupt these town hall meetings:

It's a coordinated effort by right wing conservatives that will in my opinion do anything, no matter how low, to defeat any change that may effect their bottom line.

Wow. Dick Armey prefers the status quo. Simply shocking that a guy with a lobbying firm that represents the life insurance & pharmaceutical industries doesn't want health insurance reform.

Sad thing is, these far right conservatives think people like Dick Armey are looking out for them.

Moral values? Insulting the president? What the hell are you talking about, do you actually think before you post a reply?

Where has anyone been immoral, or insulted the president in this thread?

I HOPE it's a coordinated effort. Conservatives usually spend all their time working and raising families, so it's nice to see something as irresponsible as this health care dud is inspiring people to stand against it.

And astroturfing is a David Axlerod specialty...you libs just hate when your tactics are used against you.

Here ya go:

Axelrod & Associates evolved into AKP&D Message & Media and Axelrod became the firm’s senior partner. But Axelrod and his new partners also created a second firm, ASK Public Strategies, which is as secretive as the political consultancy is public. ASK dealt only with corporate clients, including AT&T, ComEd, Cablevision and the Chicago Children’s Museum.Howard Wolinsky, “The Secret Side of David Axelrod,” Business Week, March 14, 2008.

ASK specializes in a practice known as “astroturfing,” which involves setting up front groups that appear to be independent but are, in fact, backed financially by Axelrod’s corporate clients. When ComEd, the Chicago-based utility, wanted to raise electric rates after a 10-year freeze, ASK formed a group called Consumers Organized for Reliable Electricity, or CORE, to help win over public support. It used a similar technique to aid other clients.Howard Wolinsky, “The Secret Side of David Axelrod,” Business Week, March 14, 2008.

Default Reminds me of ACORN tactics

As for the issue of rowdy mobs and people being bussed in, here's an example of what the dems are doing:

From Foster's Daily Democrat, July 30th, editorial letter:

"Reports of recent polls tell us that a large majority of Americans oppose Obamacare, preferring a revised health-care system that is not run by the federal government. Then I ask, just who are these people who show up at rallies to voice support for Obamacare?

At a town meeting, the writer says, "We were immediately obstructed by a bunch of guys wearing purple SEIU (Service Employees International Union) T-shirts. They shouted and harassed us for the hour, refused to speak with us, and as soon as we left, they dispersed."

The next day, while attending a town festival, she noticed one of the guys that she recognized and had a chance to speak with him. He said he is from Trinidad, he is not a citizen, and that he is paid to do this "volunteer" work.

She says that "similar bands" of SEIU "volunteers" were present at other rallies across the state.

Now, do you suppose that it's Republicans who are paying for Union members to show up and disrupt these meetings?

For those of you who need a link, try this and put "hired goons" in the search field:
Fosters.com, Dover NH, Rochester NH, Portsmouth NH, Laconia NH, Sanford ME

There is such a double standard here. When Obama wanted people to go out and "get in their faces" it was ok, but when he is opposed it's "racist" or an "unruly mob". He is incapable of accepting criticism and can't stand being questioned.

His background as a community organizer and affiliation with groups such as ACORN shows him to be nothing but a radical, racist, corrupt thug who can only operate by agitation and bullying. Of course he's shocked that decent American citizens will have the stones to stand up to him and his dangerous agendas. He's even more shocked that the Constitution actually means something to so many since it obviously means nothing to him.

Its fine, when 0bama works with organizations who take federal funds, while he coordinates and advises ACORN to protest in bank lobbies for their causes, but he resorts to demonizing average Americans who want to challenge government authority.

Apparently, if you and some friends agree that an 0bama policy will be harmful, and speak their minds at a town hall meeting, they are a part of a mob. what happened to freedom of speech?

You mean like the BushCo fanatics did to anyone who protested against the Iraq war and the useless deaths of 4300+ of our children, husbands, fathers, mothers and wives????
Bet you didn't think that was 'conniving, dishonest and devious' now did you?
I'll bet you still think that Cindy Sheehan had no right to protest and is unpatriotic. This GOLD STAR mother still receives death threats.

first of all, 0bama and Gibbs are just upset that not every town hall meeting is a staged town hall meeting, packed with doemocratic supporters and softball questions.

YouTube - CBS, Helen Thomas Challenge Gibbs On "Controlled" Town Hall Meeting
Obama scripts town-hall meeting on health care. What would Bush say? | Top of the Ticket | Los Angeles Times

Secondly neither Bush nor his administration ever resorted to the 0bama styled tactics of the past few days, against people simply for expressing their protests to the Iraq war.

Lets see what did Cindy Sheehan say about Bush?

Sheehan: “I didn’t lose my son. I know where he is. He is buried here. He was put in a grave by George Bush and the neo-conservatives, a government of psychopathic killers.”

Now let's see what president Bush's response was to Cindy Sheehan's hateful words about him:

Bush: “I sympathize with Mrs. Sheehan. She feels strongly about her position. And she has every right in the world to say what she believes. This is America. She has a right to her position."

now lets compare what comes out of the 0bama administration when people simply disagree with his haelth care insurance proposal.

Quote:
Statement from DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse on the Republican Party and Allied Groups’ Mob Rule:

The Republicans and their allied groups – desperate after losing two consecutive elections and every major policy fight on Capitol Hill – are inciting angry mobs of a small number of rabid right wing extremists funded by K Street Lobbyists to disrupt thoughtful discussions about the future of health care in America taking place in Congressional Districts across the country.

These mobs are bussed in by well funded, highly organized groups run by Republican operatives and funded by the special interests who are desperately trying to stop the agenda for change the President was elected to bring to Washington.

Q: Are you concerned at what appears to be well-orchestrated protesting of health care reform at town halls as derailing your message?

GIBBS: NO, I get asked every day about the myriad of things that could be derailing our message. I would point out that I don't know what all those guys were doing, what were they called, the brooks brothers brigade in florida in 2000, appear to have rented a similar bus and are appearing together at town hall meetings throughout the country

Q: Robert, if these town halls are even being influenced by, whatever, a cabal or individuals, how problematic is that for you guys to try to your message out? Even if the premise that it is unfair is correct, it's still going to shape the way these town halls are viewed throughout the country.

GIBBS: Well, you know, look, I hope people will take a jaundiced eye to what is clearly the Astro Turf nature of so-called grassroots lobbying-- The Astro Turf nature of grassroots lobbying, which is largely the term for, you know, this is manufactured anger.
Unlike 0bama, Bush respected freedom of speech, and did not resort to propaganda tactics to smear people or belittle them.

The overly prideful fascists in the Democratic Party do not take well to criticism of their agenda by the unwashed.
