Its all becomming clear now why the libs are so rabid for this
The government run health care option was made for people just like you. While you're posting non sense about abortion and other hysteria your health issues are going to get worse and you'll end up sawing your own foot off when no insurance company will take you.

There is no option but a government overhaul/intervention because the medical establishment won't be forced by any other means. I believe in socialized medicine just as I believe in socialized police protection, socialized fire safety, and socialized running water. There should be no profit in healthcare.

Ever heard of Lipitor? It was created in the lab but the manufacturer couldn't find a market for it. Then they lobbied the FDA to lower the standards for acceptable cholesterol levels and voila! a market for Lipitor was found. Every pharmaceutical company is only interested in profits. They really don't care what the drugs really do, what the side effects are, etc. They want your money.

The American Medical Association is revered for the information it provides on medical studies. But the AMA wasn't founded to be a source of information for the public. It was created to protect the business interests of medical professionals. It effectively opposes anything that would undermine the profit enjoyed by current medical practices. They were sued for deliberately discrediting chiropractic medicine after many years of litigation. They deliberately made it difficult for chiropractors to stay in business because they know that a spine in proper alignment promotes a healthy body. Healthy bodies are bad for business.

There is no way that Big Pharma and the medical establishment (including insurance companies) will allow anything resembling socialized medicine without force. They will spend furiously to discredit it. Which is precisely why it is logical to support it. But there are other things that must be done as well...

We have to change the food production in this country to provide real nutrition, not genetically modified garbage.
We have to "scare" people enough to make them take charge of their own bodies, we need to wean them off of the idea that a drug will solve their problem and they don't need to do anything themselves.
We need to say no to the manufactured drugs and yes to nature's pharmacy--natural medicine is the only cure for what ails us.
We need to expose all those methods now being employed that have the expressed purpose of weakening our minds and bodies. Most of this stuff is electromagnetic in nature. It's all about control, really.
We need to reaffirm that this mind and body is mine, these minds and bodies are ours, etc.

And yet people continue to hire extra security and bottled water. People want the best for themselves, and socialized healthcare is not the best.

Your whole premise is crap. Should we the tax payers pay for doctors med school like we pay for police training and fire training?

People want the best, eh? Is our current system the best? I would say about 100 million people would vehemently say no. Is socialized medicine the best? Probably not, but it's the only option that will move us forward to the point where we remove the profit motive from an industry that is hellbent on making a dime on the suffering of people. If you think that's not true, you are blind. If you think that's acceptable, you are sick.

I didn't say that doctors become government workers nor do I believe that one's education should be on the public dime. You seem to think that healthcare has to be expensive. I'm saying two things: our western version of healthcare is expensive because it's entirely geared toward profit, and it's unnecessary because natural/wholistic (and cheaper) alternatives are the way to go.

All liberal desires can be deduced from the desire to murder babies. For instance, what would a polar bear want to do if it saw a baby? Probably eat it. But libs want to save polar bears. Hmm, now that's what I call suspicious.

So keep your own damn health insurance and stop ranting against a public option for people who want and need it!

Really?

Of course, cons wouldn't want abortions covered. Some large number of insurers don't cover maternity care either. Got to stay away from the 'woman' stuff.

I'm sure we all remember the outcry during the campaign last year when Sen. McCain's pal Carly Fiorina called out the insurance companies who paid for Viagra but not birth control, either forgetting or not knowing that her candidate liked it that way:

Think Progress Ā» Fiorina touts insurance plans that cover birth control, but forgets McCain opposes them.

It's pretty clear to me how 'cons' feel about women and accountability.

Abortions for some, little American flags for others.
