In a memo sent out on Thursday, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney outlined the blueprint for how the union conglomerate would step up recess activities on health care reform and other topics pertinent to the labor community. The document makes clear that Obama allies view the town hall forums as ground zero of the health care debate. It also uses the specter of the infamous 2000 recount "Brooks Brothers" protest to rally its members to the administration's side.

So now it's okay to organize opposition? All week long the argument has been that such an effort discredits protesters.

It's okay as long as it is UNIONS. Obama rescued the UAW so now it is pay back time. Call the minions in . . . and stop the dissent.

Chicago style politics. Call in the AFL-CIO.

So, no, how could anyone be surprised.

Too bad some of us have to work. I'm sure the unions will work it out that those guys take a week off with pay so they can go to these protests.

What I'd like to know is between the protestors, the unions, and the politician leading the Town Hall meeting, has anyone of them READ the fricking bill and will be able to intelligently answer legitimate questions on it?

It seems like half of the left think the bill is UHC with people getting health care for a dollar a month and half of the right think it will mandate euthenasia.

This is just a public relations disaster, but indicative of what happens when you try a campaign to "sell" something that isn't well thought out and is being rushed.

So unions protesting is a new thing? That damn Fox News had me thinking there may have been organized union protests in the past.

Against who? Who are they against, average Americans who have lost the trust of their government.

Shame on those Americans who feel that they have a right to speak out.

Let the unions spend all that money and power they have and CRUSH the average American citizen....that'll show them!!

(Even David beat Goliath with just a rock and slingshot...I say bring them on!)
