You could start by contacting your representatives and telling them that you're concerned about the tactics that some in the party think will win back power, but are actually turning people away from the GOP, and ask them to talk to their colleagues about changing the tone of their rhetoric.

Send them this link: GOP Losses Span Nearly All Demographic Groups.

Start talking to your friends and colleagues and asking them to do the same.

Start a consistent writing campaign to your representatives and tell them that if they don't start talking solutions instead of fear, you'll support any GOP Primary opponent who runs against them in the next cycle.

Start contacting the representatives who are making these ridiculous statements, even if they aren't your representative, and ask them to please stop. Show them how it's actually hurting the party, not helping it.

Contact Michael Steele and tell him the same thing.

Start dispelling the rumors your Republican friends circulate to you, and get them on track to find out the truth and focus on the issues, not the distortions.

Whenever your friends start using incendiary language, ask them to stop. Tell them you won't tolerate that kind of rhetoric anymore.

That would be a good way to start.

I saw a vid from a 'recess rally' where people carried signs which proved beyond any doubt that they have believed the lies. The signs displayed one of the most commonly repeted lies. It basically said (maybe not in so many words) "I don't want a govt worker to come to my door to consult me on my death". It is a proven lie, speard by Limbaugh/Hannity/Cavuto/O'reilly/Beck/Savage/Coulter/FOX/Repubican propaganda machine.

I stand corrected. Two people who aren't rightwingers said it. How many rightwingers repeat it here at CD alone? A lot more than two.

Did you actually play and listen to that video, or just knee-jerk over the headline?

I watched it start to finish. I heard a calm, reasonable approach, filled with suggestions for solutions and areas that need immediate addressing. I heard him call for input from both parties and talk about meetings they're having with Republicans on some of these issues.

Would you mind pointing out the fear-mongering in that to me?
