Being on a school board subjects me to the public - lol all of em.

A man calls me today saying the Obama Admin in its health care plan is going to require all school children to be immunized for a variety of diseases, and those who refuse - the govt will come to their house and remove them and put them in "Camps". Yup he had heard it on talk radio just this morning.

I told him to please get me that portion of the bill - at first he just wanted to send me a tape of the radio show. He agreed but I haven't heard from him yet.

I am not in favor of many parts of this legislation, however with a million parts anyone who is -- is suspect. I do appreciate Obama tackling this nasty issue - where was Bush when we needed this?

I'd have taken the tape of the show. I wonder whose show it was.

The right, in general, has no scruples about lying to kill this. I'm sure there are decent conservatives out there - a couple have posted here on CD. But the vast majority of wingnuts on this forum have no problem lying their a***s off to kill health care reform. It's truly disgusting.

I'd like to know that too. Im sure there are folks on here who know.

it might be this, but I cant find a date on the confusing page: Take potentially deadly H1N1 Vaccine or Concentration Camp - Your Choice! >> Four Winds 10 - fourwinds10.com

looking for "Obama" and "concentration camp", this is from March -- Fox's Glenn Beck says Obama is building concentration camps for Republicans - Boing Boing

this is from Nov 4 ("a caller who stated: 'I'm ready to go to the concentration camp, that [Sen. Barack] Obama's police force -- he will round me up. Because I -- I'm a white American.'") -- Liddy: Obama concentration camp will serve "ham hocks and turnip greens" | Media Matters for America

My boss is a decent conservative but he can't bring himself to condemn this lying and deceit.

From a quick 3 minute online search what I figure happened is that someone posted a comment on a blog or news article claiming this could happen, which was then picked up, embelished upon, and forwarded in an email. With lot's of bold print and exclaimation points!!!!!! so you know it's real. Next comes reading the email on-air by a host who follows up with "now I don't know if this is true or not but...".

Then stand back and watch the loons come out and play.

Well even I am conservative on some issues- I voted for Ron Paul in the GOP Primary. Fair is fair though and Obama deserves a lot of credit just for his attempts.

I think he said something like "Coast to Coast" I don't listen to talk radio - does that sound like a radio show?

It is remarkable how many have been convinced to argue against their own interests, armed only with lies.

I have heard of it but haven't listened to it. Mostly tinfoil stuff from what I've heard.

I know! (Joe the) Plumber Nation. I just found this (it's old) puzzling about the teabaggers' motivation -

"Obama already passed the largest middle-class tax cut in history. Yes, he's proposing increasing the top rate back to where it was when our economy was healthy, but that only means that folks with household income below a quarter-mil aren't really in a position to whine about the administration's agenda.
***
"Which brings us back to where we started: what are these people whining about again? They don't like economic recovery efforts, but the stimulus has already passed and it's a little late to rally opposition to it. They don't like budget deficits, unless they're run by Republican presidents. They don't want their taxes to go up, but Obama has already passed a significant tax cut."
