Maybe?

This guy is gonna have us all speaking Mandarin in five years, seeing as how all this money that is being thrown around is being underwritten by the Chinese government.

I am starting to feel the USA is becoming a colony of China. Reminds me of 1767 . . . when colonists here became acutely aware that America was simply the cash cow for raw materials to be shipped back to England . . . and that taxation was simply a matter of raising the coffers for the Crown.

Now maybe this bothers no one else. But I am entitled to my opinion.

For those of you who disagree . . . go ahead! But that doesn't mean my observation is any less legitimate.

Actually it's not; China is winding down their Treasury purchases and our own Fed is buying back our Treasuries.

Here's one for the progressives...

Why is Geithner asking Congress to raise the debt limit?

Get it? Because Congress is the responsible for the budget. ALL of them.

Congress has finally become a failure, having pursued that course for forty years.

Will we fiddle while Rome burns? It appears not.

People are genuinely concerned about getting answers - and their Congressmen, in many cases, are not being forthcoming. And don't start it with me about how meetings have been disrupted. Congressmen could be posting FAQs on their website; they could be writing letters to their Constituents; and they could be doing news interviews w/ reporters to explain the various points in the legislation being considered in Congress. They could be PROACTIVE.

These vigilante tactics the DNC is employing are looking to me like someone took a page out of the KKK intimidation book. And I should know. I grew up in the South and saw and heard a lot of disgusting rhetoric and actions come from ignorant folks determined to keep black folks "in their place."

What's the next step? Rioting in the street when folks feel their voices are not being heard? And then what happens? Call out the dogs and the water hoses, in a Selma style retribution against Old White Folks w/ canes who are worried about their Medicare benefits?

You gotta just stop and wonder about all this.

Now you all have fun calling me a tinfoil rightwing nutcase. Try to marginalize what I am worried could be on the horizon.

I am concerned about what I am seeing unfold in this country.

The White House and the DNC and its leadership in Congress are the ones whipping things up by creating situations that are guaranteed, in many cases, to be explosive. Then add Chicago-style strongarm tactics by calling in Union members - who don't even have a dog in this match! They already have their healthcare bennies guaranteed.

So WHY would anyone call on the AFL-CIO to come in and intimidate constituents?

Why doesn't the White House, and all Congressmen, use the freebie services they have - and the staff they have employed at taxpayer expense - to answer the questions that their constituency have voiced?

If town hall meetings are not working . . . then the thing to do is not call out the goons and spin this into "right wing nutcases are being inflamed by rightwing talk show hosts." For those of us who never listen to these pundits, saying such stuff is absolutely guaranteed to infuriate. I AM INSULTED.

Marginalizing these concerns is gonna push folks into more and more desperation to have their voices heard.

So if anyone is "whipping up" anger - the White House and DNC need to look in the mirror . . .I believe it is time for the White House and the DNC to show some leadership and DIGNITY and stop using intimidation tactics - and start actually being proactive. If they don't - then folks like me really have no choice but assume the accusatory rhetoric coming out of the mouths of people like Nancy Pelosi is calculated to create confrontation - NOT resolve it.

And as far as Gheitner . . . he is just plain scary. I guess he never met a tax increase he didn't like . . . How about he starts considering making some recommendations to cut out federally funded programs and some tightening of the federal belt . . . while we all get a grip on how to get this country's federal budget running in the black.

Right. I should have mentioned Dubai, too. Maybe we should start learning Arabic as well as Mandarin.
