You asked where Obama got his information (which you felt was made up) and someone posted some links to support what he said. You called it stupid and divisive. LOL!
"...physicians may be too quick to amputate as 85 percent of them may be preventable, according to the International Diabetes Foundation.

"The number of diabetes-related [lower extremity amputation] hospital discharges increased by 240 percent between 1980 (33,000) to 2002 (82,000), according to the CDC."
Oh, sure. Using your fancy "facts" and "logic", you can prove anything that's just remotely true.
This comment: "The number of diabetes-related [lower extremity amputation] hospital discharges increased by 240 percent between 1980 (33,000) to 2002 (82,000), according to the CDC." is really telling.
You might think the ONE denigrating the doctors would provide the proof, wouldn't you?
Yes, If he knew medicine, that is. Who's writing the speeches I don't know. Actually his words on tests and procedures say one thing: I want to limit all kinds of tests, procedures, surgeries, and even meds, in order to pay for the health care. That's rationing and the extent it will be we don't know, the bill is vague and left for interpretations! A couple months ago saw him speak on limiting and substituting procedures; he said to substitute MRI's with xrays, substitute stents for something (wish I could remember this one), but it didn't make sense.
Does Mr. Obama really believe that people are such mindless morons that they NEED someone to tell them to lose weight and monitor their blood sugar levels (i.e., 'preventative' care) so they don't lose their legs?
Oh...wait. Apparently they do. Why, oh why, can't people just take responsibility for their health???
Since now we know the majority are very worried about health care reform and did not like the bill that was first presented, hopefully we all will get a much better bill passed, something that the majority of people will accept, one with words that are specific and detailed, not left for interpretation by government. I guess that's wishful thinking. The people actually should be able to do the voting on a health bill instead of the government I think.

The increase in diabetes-related amputations is not so much related to physician actions as due to the tripling of the number of diabetics since 1980. There are now over 8,000,000 diabetics and the bad news is 30,000,000 Americans are pre-diabetic . Its possible the number of diabetics may triple again in the next decade so nearly quarter of a million people a year may be facing this prospect by 2020. Now many insurance plans and interestingly Medicare will not compensate a Pediatrist for diabetic foot care.I see a Pediatrist every few months for this care and have to pay $60 for it out of pocket. If I developed gangreen and needed a foot amputation Medicare Part A would cover that.
Has he looked around and seen what people are doing to themsleves? He is like all liberals in that he has to blame behaviour on others rather than tell the person to take some responsiblioty for their own survival. Anything for a vote inclduing conning people into a hate fest. Typical organizer that plays on peoples hate and greed.
