While looking for something else entirely, I stumbled across this article from a couple of years ago.

Quote:
The results show "there are two cognitive styles -- a liberal style and a conservative style," said UCLA neurologist Dr. Marco Iacoboni, who was not connected to the latest research.
Study finds left-wing brain, right-wing brain - Los Angeles Times

Forgot some are allergic to latimes, here's an alternative:

The conservatives were too busy wondering whether the Ws were with them or against them. Clearly it wasn't a fair test.

Exactly.

Liberal = emotional side
Conservative = thinking side

Funny. During the '60s, I'd agree with you, but today, it's just the opposite.

Regardless, the article mentioned nothing of this nature. Did you just make it up?

Is there a button for "No Sh*t, Sherlock?"

Who needs a study to determine that? I'm pretty sure most of us on this board could have came to that conclusion based on our very own life experiences.

It takes a certain kind of person to be a policeman. It takes a certain kind of person to be a military General. It takes a certain kind of person to be a politician. A lawyer...a doctor....the list goes on and on. Psychology is everything.

Interesting study I suppose, but not surprising (to me).

Analyzing the data, Sulloway said liberals were 4.9 times more likely than conservatives to show activity in the brain circuits that deal with conflicts and were 2.2 times more likely to score in the top half of the distribution for accuracy.
What this study proves conclusively, is that liberals are better at video games.

Actually, I would want to know the ages of the participants before making any judgements.
My mother can barely handle her cell phone - she's just not as comfortable with technology.
Meaningless without ages - I need to find the original study (I'm sure its in there).

The liberals I teach at university are quite dim actually. They lack focus and the ability to be attentive with their iNerd, Wii console, etc. They are fantastic at performing 10 different tasks half a**ed simultaneously, and terrible at performing 1 task with laser beam focus. The dropout rate for Ph. D. students among younger people is higher than for older people, at least here. It's quite embarassing for the youngins considering their minds are supposed to be sharper at that age.

I'm ambidextrous, people can walk around nude for all I care, we need less government and a strong defense; no wonder I get headaches.
