RR was surrounded by security when he was shot. Did it cross your mind that the President might leave the building at some point? I still wonder why he felt the need to carry to a protest, was he expecting violence?

the state that this town hall was held is an open carry state. As he has said in many interviews now, he was carrying because he always Carry's. It is second nature in that particular state, just like it is nature here in Colorado for those with conceal carry permits to carry. It is not like he was hiding the fact that he was carrying, I am damn certain that Secret Service knew he was there and carrying. There was no way, nor any want by him to harm the president.

earlier he had been in a conflict with some union thugs who spit on a camera, and assaulted someone else. He was standing right there, they backed off after noticing that he was armed. Yet he felt no need to reach for it then.

Contrary to anti-second amendment people, not everyone that is armed, is out to kill someone.

Is USA Today sure that the FBI hasn't changed the counterterrorism program to the counter man-made disaster program?

You didn't catch where leftist thugs were going after people around him but stayed away when they saw he was armed, by any chance?
