A perfect example of why our Congress-critters need to STOP wasting time with foolish notions of national health care, and pass some reasonable and rational legislation to bring regulations back to the health insurance industry.

They can start by eliminating HMO's.
Actually the HMO model is the most effcient model as far as cost vs outcome. That is not to say that they don't have problems that should be addressed but the ones like Kaiser actually hire their own doctors and pay them a salary which makes the doctor less likely to prescribe high priced drugs when a generic will do.

I started my working career before HMO's were authorized.
I have since seen health care costs steadily climb.
And if you're with a doctor who will only prescribe name brands, even after you request generics, time to move on to a new doctor.

Have you ever had, or know anyone who has Kaiser?
Seriously, they are a mess.
There are problems with the current system, and it needs to be reformed. I haven't seen many people argue against reform. I have seen a lot of people argue against the current plans on the table and be mislabeled as supporters of the status quo.

I am with Kaiser. I do not go to the doc that often but I have not had any issues with them- yet!
