He and Colin Powell, et al, really did a superb job in Desert Storm. My Army agency loaded over 560 ships of unit equipment and ammo for that show. They got that part totally correct, but I could kick whoever decided to leave Saddam in power when we had over 500,000 of our own troops there and chomping at the bit to take him down. Now we're back there again with serious loss of lives and huge costs to us both financially and to our respect in the world.
I don't understand why you would kick them when history has essentially proven that they made a wise decision ending Desert Storm when they did. They knew enough to quit while they were ahead and it's only because of the zealots who prevailed in junior's administration that we suffered those costs.
That free speech thing really gets in the way some times doesn't it?

I note G. W. Bush is also compiling a memoir; the contrast between the two should be interesting when they can be compared side by side. One thing is certain, Cheney will write HIS OWN book; someone will have to write Bush's book for him.
