Hope this encourages you.

So Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer were democrats what's your point? Or perhaps it would have been better to say they were "Jesus" supporters

Anyone that resorts to violence is not a true libertarian and anyone that would immediately resort to violence without taking the proper steps listed in the Constitution is not a true libertarian. He is obviously a fly-by night, who did not want to get labeled with the "birther" movement, but his actions i'm pretty sure would have been condemned by Ron Paul, because they were not appropriate for the setting. When you read something that Ron Paul wrote that advocates bringing a gun to a town hall meeting post it.

Point of mentioning Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer is i do not know any party that advocates murder, but some people follow some doctrines and dis-obey others.

Now 8 months later when they did not vote for the Candidate that was preaching small government they complain about the government expanding???

This is why these anti-Obama individuals will be exposed for who they truly are and it is shameful and a step in the wrong direction. If they were so passionate about small government why the f**K did they vote for John McCain and not Ron Paul???????????? I'm an agry libertarian who would have been happy to see Paul as president, so i cannot stand the lying that is coming from the neo-cons in reference to health care. They do not give two craps about small government or health care, they only care about stopping the president, which is stupid. It is ok to disagree, but to try by intimidation and force is pushing the line with me. I can tell you the republican party is alienating themselves and will be lucky if they are ever able to carry the youth vote or new immigrant vote. I do not have respect for either party in general, but the republicans are making themselves out to be the party of hate and I cannot condone such behavior no matter how much i hate far left socialist in the democratic party. Geez, they have no idea how shameful they look on tv at night yelling like a bunch of freaking inbreeds, it makes me sick, and the older people that are doing it just help validate the awful stereotype they are a bunch of uneducated racist. It is making me sick~!

I remember I wore a Ron Paul tee-shirt to the mall, i had a ton of people come up to me and say great shirt man! Then when i asked are you going to vote for him 90% of them said no, because i have to stick with one of the bigger two guys int he parties, he has no chance. I'm like well duh if you're going to continue to vote along party lines for the other two candidates, so my point is that people talk a good game, but when it comes time to put up, they are truly not interested in limiting the size of government.
Can someone explain to me why Ron Paul is a republican? Why does he stick with this party? He is the only one who makes any sense from this party and I believe his affiliation with the party is holding his cause back!

How about a 2012 Ron Paul and Mike Bloomberg independent ticket?

Yea, that would not be such a bad ticket at all!!

The problem as I see it is that the majority of folks really are centrist but subscribe to the "wasted vote" nonsense and end up voting for the less of two evils. Even with the skewed electoral college, every vote still counts and until people can wrap their heads around that they will continue to vote for either one of the two choices that invariably represent the fringe on either side.

I'm proud to say that though I used to choose the idiot I feared the least, I now only vote for the one I like.

To me, voting for someone you don't really believe in is a wasted vote if there ever was one.

Maybe you should watch something else on nightime TV if it's making you sick. Before you know it, you'll be using your corporate health insurance. And remember, just because a conservative is passionate and yes, some are over-the-top in these Townhall debates, doesn't make them a racist and certainly not uneducated.

Like you, I'm an independent thinker and voter who dislikes big government intrusion into every aspect of our private lives. However, I believe that most of our fellow independents or liberterians opted to vote for McCain or Obama to err on the side of choosing their best candidate from the two primary parties- even though neither choice was very good.

We can only hope that someday an independent emerges who will energize people from the left and right to finally vote for the best candidate period, and not vote sheepishly along party lines.

LazyT, that's a complete cop out on the issue. If you believe strongly in a candidate you vote for them. You do not waste your vote on someone that you do not agree with, so using that two party bs is exactly that bs.

If you feel strongly about something you vote for those that you closely align yourself with.

In 2000 i voted for Bush and in 2004 i voted for him again. I'm proud of my vote in each election, because i felt at the time we had very similar views and to some extent i think we still do, but at some point during the last 8 years he veered off course and never came back on course. he preached small government, no policing the world, and less government intervention in the end they were just broken promises. I never thought he was the brightest, the most articulate, but i agreed with most of his views (not all but most).

When Bush along with the help of Congress passed the "Patriot Act", that was sort of the last straw, but like most i was still caught up in the fear tactics of the terrorist bs. It was not until i friend sent me a few Ron Paul emails in 2005 and i started to take an interest in the libertarian small government movement. Once i read his vision for small government i decided to become an independent.

In general the republican party has been off course since the 1980's and since Barry Goldwater left the party. The minute they allowed Christians to run rough shot and promoted family values the party lost its direction and has yet to show signs of ever coming back. Barry Goldwater was the last true republican in my opinion and everyone since Regan on are just neo-cons, who will do anything for a vote. (Same goes for the dems)

If you believed in small government you would have voted for Ron Paul no if and or ..., so making up these long drawn out excuses as to why people did not vote for him is pointless. I told each and everyone one of my friends that voted for McCain or Obama, if you were truly committed to change you'd vote for Paul. Their actions showed they were not committed to change. I think it is great the general populist elected a non-white male president, but when you compare the two options offered he was clearly the best. However, he brings the same old politics to Washington he just happens to be black. I do not see much change in that, so it is great our nation is less racist, but big deal same politics. Ron Paul and small government would have been true change.

PS as for your response about me labeling people dumb, sorry, but those people are as dumb and uneducated as rocks. I cringe every time i see one of them yelling in the face of a senator or representative, because they continually show the world, the American public, and anyone else that has the ability to watch them how stupid they really are.

Now, if they want to debate and disagree that is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but i'm most upset with the tactics and flat out lies being used. There are more direct lies coming from Repubs than dems, although there are two sides to everything, so I'm aware the dems are probably not being 100% honest either. However, the repubs are making themselves out to be exactly the typical stereotype, loud mouthed, racist, backwoods, with no ability to have proper discourse, they act just like a bunch of inner city teenagers. I did not say it to be racist just saying the groups act a like they have a lot more in common, than difference as we can all see now. They are both Loud mouthed, rude, have no respect for authority, and don't know what the hell they're talking about.

I would have voted for him too. I am pro-choice but I would have not let him disagreeing with that stand in my way because I think Ron Paul really CARES about the average people of America and wanted to do things for and with US, not the uber wealthy and the corporations.
