Governor Dean is the genius who orchestrated the 50 state strategy that propelled Barack Obama to victory in the 2008 election, including turning several formerly-red states blue. Underestimate him at your party's own peril.
I think you overestimate his genius. My cocker spaniel could have orchestrated that victory after bush leaving office with abysmal popularity ratings.

I hope the Blue Dog Dems will be able to vote their conscious and consider the people they represent. If not, this form of government doesn't mean much to us citizens.
And that is exactly the chance they will have if they vote against the reform, and find out the real public support in the primaries. Whats wrong with that?

So according to the Congressional Budget Office a "strong public option" will either have to contain very limited health screening benefits or else be very expensive.
I realize that many of the strong Obama supporters want this issue to be a continuation of the "I want more benefits, but someone else to pay for them" gravy train. At the core of multiple issues, including health care, this is really what many/most supporters want.
However, I think your freebie ride is about to get derailed with this issue.
First we'll either derail or severely limit the healthcare proposals, and next we'll take on "Cap & Trade".
Last time I checked Obama has what they call a veto pen, ya know... If the plan is not what he is looking for he'll tell congress go back to work and get er done right. Cap a & Trade? Wishful thinking. Obama also ran on a platform of clean renewable energy. Last time I checked he won with 10,000,000 votes over McCain and that nutbag Palin, so you need to suck it up for 8 years...
