I pulled up along side of one these at a light the other day. Unbelievable! who would put someone in their family in that death trap!
If you are in a city I think they are fine. I'm selling my car but if I bought another while I was living in a urban area I would think about buying one. I rode in one with my friend in Europe and they were fine.
As far as a "death trap" I think this is a common American misconception that SUV's are safer and we now know they are not (see roll overs, etc).

Go th their site. Smart Cars have been in existence since 2000 if not before. There are a few running around the US. In Europe they were very affordable but by the time they got here they were 30k.
Super small and compact you can pretty much park them in any direction.
So how do you spot a left wing town ??? I thought we were all Americans, who love our flag/country/troops/police,etc...
you spot a left wing town by the number of tattoos you see, dyed hair, musicians, artistic expression. and no, not everyone love their flag, country troops, police. those people are called nationalists and patriots. different people have different priorities. not everyone is the same.
And for the left wing, counting how many there are:
1.) Hybrids and Mercedes Smart Cars
2.)'9/11 was an inside job' bumper stickers
3.)Protests or marches
4.)University or capitol
i wonder about that protest thing though. i have heard people say that before, but i was living in england and canada for a while and i never saw a single protest and it was considered left wing.
yoga shops, organic this and that, smelling like patchouli, head shops, lots of toe rings, people asking for money, asking you to sign petitions, poor minorities that dont really seem to be apart of the scheme but there to make it seem cool, rainbow flags, piercings, volvos, sandals, hairy legged woman, effeminate men,

or you could be in the backwoods of just about any american town like alabama missisipi, texas, utah with none of the above mentioned, yet they are still right wing.
What the heck IS a smart car ??? I admit, I have never even heard of this... Anyway, I don't think right or left matters... I believe the vast majority of either side supports the troops/police/country/etc...
thats coz the vast majority of usa is right wing. having been in other countries, i can tell you that military isnt always looked upon in a positive light. same thing with police, especially when they are abusing their jobs.
sure they can oceanlab, or they can be in the places i mentioned
