Do you have a living will? Have you discussed your choices with your family? with your doctor?
Such a fuss was made about this provision in proposed health care legislation. Yet for more than ten years, my family has had this discussion and had living wills. My doctor has me sign a new living will every few years, discussing it with me.
My grandmother had one, my mom has one and I have one. How about you? Do you have one? Why or why not?
Yep. Had my first one when I was 19, and one every two years (approx.) after that, and I'm 25 now. I have a genetic disorder that could go 'downhill' fairly quickly so I have to have these provisions just in case.
We have the full set of documents, medical, financial, the works. Also have Long Term Care Insurance for skilled nursing home care.

I understand the exorbitant costs of end of life care... I guess people are fine with dying a little "sooner" but if I could live a week or two longer, than I am okay with that... perhaps its because I believe that after death there is nothing after that, so I want to "stay" here as long as possible...
My husband and I both have one. As a former health care worker, I've seen too many bedside tragedies
involving the patient and family. I want to be certain that, if my time comes naturally, my family will not be bankrupted, nor will I be subjected to costly treatments, tests, medicines or surgeries that would only prolong my death. I saw Bernie Sanford (I-Vt) state that 1 million families will go bankrupt due to medical costs this year alone. Fight the insurance lobby!
Nope not yet. I do need to get one though. My parents have one I know that.
