Well yes people from different walks of life sometimes don't understand the other that is the way it is,that is the beauty of states rights. But lack of communication and enough respect to listen leads to more assumptions by people who don't understand the other sometimes.
2nd amendment advocates especially in states like Arizona live a life where they are free to carry open, and most of them are not a threat to anybody because they act responsible with it.It is their right to do so I support that.
They, going to a political rally believe they were just exercising a right they live out everyday. However others may misinterpret their reason and intentions, that is where the "flak" if you will is starting.I don't believe in creating laws against open carry, that should certainly be a states right to decide however I would ask those that open carry think about the signal it sends within the national realm when it comes to political rallies.
I would also ask that 2nd amendment advocates not try to use the debate on healthcare as a way to gain promotional time for 2nd amendment issues. My opinion.
When Democrats stop using Union thugs to assault dissenters, I will stop attending rallies and townhall meetings armed. I started attending political townhall meetings and rallies armed in 1998 after Clinton's Teamster thugs began beating up anyone with an opposing view. Now Obama's Union thugs are doing the exact same thing. At least they were until all this plublicity of armed dissenters showing up at townhall meetings began. The Democrat Union cowards don't seem to be as brazen now that they are unsure who may or may not be armed.
While I respect your father and his right to have his opinion - the FACT remains - that NOTHING was ILLEGAL about the individual bringing a firearm to the area .
Again - NOTHING WAS ILLEGAL.
I don't care if it wasn't ILLEGAL. It is STUPID. People with half a brain know better.
"Laura Bush, wife of likely GOP presidential nominee George W. Bush,
addressed the state convention on Friday, though it's not clear if she was
aware of the assault rifle-toting protesters outside."
You don't understand, your opinion is unimportant in regards to the issue,it was legal.
That is it,nothing more matters...not whether you like it or not.
You can dislike whatever you want but unless it is illegal it matters little.
Actually, I think it is you that is not understanding. I'm saying, while it may very well be legal, is it smart to do it? That is the question. And the answer to that question is a very resounding no. Anyone who believes weapons should be brought to a presidential event has more than a few screws loose.
