With this topic thats not necessarily true. The AARP lobbies for free stuff for seniors, (odly enough, liberals here object to lobbiest otherwise), and that lobbying has helped to bankrupt this nation. Sure, I guess the old people see that as something positive, but I guess if your old and going to die, debt isnt a concern of yours..

They stand for liberal IDEALS such as Social Security, The New Deal, Medicare and, yes, healthcare reform. We need to support them!

you act like HC reform is only a liberal idea. Govt. take over is the only liberal part of the idea.

Somewhere between 45,000 and 49,000 members have resigned their membership essentially in anger over our support for the Medicare legislation," Novelli said at a meeting with reporters at AARP headquarters.
Some of those who quit later rejoined, but AARP doesn't know how many, Novelli said.
Despite the resignations, though, AARP's membership rolls grew last year from 35.2 million to 35.7 million, he said.

Seriously folks let's do some basic math here. Is this really news???

What this shows is the the majority of members clearly are not that ticked off. If 20 Million dump their coverage then the AARP has something to worry about, but when less than 1% of the membership drops, who cares, they'll be back, because the economies of scale and the deals the AARP provides their elderly a@@ is far better than any other senior group. They are really making a mockery of themselves, but at least i get a good laugh when i come home at the end of the day.
