Birkenstock's aren't fashionable.

They're supposedly reliably comfortable, and durable.

... and they sure as hell aint Prada!

Suburbs in western states almost always have sidewalks. Colorado is a fairly conservative state, but way into outdoor activities. Not only do we have sidewalks, we have bike paths, which are also used for walking.

I don't agree with the posts made in relation to conservative vs. liberal area's and you're right not everyone who is conservative is a religious nut job... its a point of view... take it or leave it I guess, but I think there is a lot of anger from liberal points of view because they see conservatives as limiting things for everyone, when allowing something doesn't mean everyone has to go do it... it just allows it.... so someone who wishes to be conservative can remain so... even if laws become more liberal.. whereas the other way around.. everyone must submit... dunno if that makes sense?
Christianity is supposed to be about faith, not works, at least in the Protestant version. The good morals business is supposed to be an offshoot of following Christ, who was actually a member of the Jewish faith.

Gosh I didnt know all of this, but it does sound like a great place to live....

Someone point me to the conservative towns near you in Florida and that is where I will land.

** There we go again mentioning conservative and religion. They are not the same people. Please seperate the two. There are religous people on both sides of the aisle.
What you the libs say if the conservatives started blasted the looney left for not being so religous, they wouldnt like it very well would they? I could see them come back with what I do in my own house is my business.....

Sounds like Fort Smith, Arkansas. Ft. Smith has 6 Wal-Mart Supercenters for only 80,000 people. No Target though. Most people here live on unpaved roads except for in the core of town. And as I said, in any parking lot, you'll spot TONS of conservative/religious bumper stickers but not a single progressive/liberal bumper sticker. I've lived here almost 6 years and I have only seen one anti-Bush bumper sticker.

I read back a few more pages, and I found this. I think it's hilarious that someone would characterize conservative as the following:

I thought conservatives all drove everywhere and wanted 'good' roads. Some of the more libertarian of them probably believe in private roads, but I never heard any conservatives saying they wanted poor roads. Isn't it a 'liberal' belief that too much money is spent on roads/prisons and not enough on schools?

Unpaved roads (ditto above)
Ditto above.

Lots of churches (Conservatives love their churches)
This issue has been addressed many times.

Wal-mart (At least one if not more)
Wal-Mart = bad. Nikes made in China = good? Chinese made goods bought at a mom and pop = good?

No high end stores (High end stores reflect prosperity in a community, conservatives believe in rock bottom wages)
But conservatives like to spend their money to show off their prosperity!

Lots of American Flags
Whatever

"God Bless George Bush" bumper stickers
Haven't seen one of those in a long time.

Most people driving rather than walking (Only liberals walk)
Surely you jest! ONLY liberals? [This one is not tongue in cheek. I can't believe anyone would say something so silly!]

No Starbucks (Isn't Starbucks liberal?)
I thought Starbuck's was the epitome of bad, like Wal-Mart.

Women's shoe stores specializing in "Function, not Fashion"
If only liberals walk, it would stand to reason that libs are the ones wearing the functional shoes.

I'm sure others can add to this list.
My responses are meant to be tongue in cheek, and do not reflect my true opinions. I feel the choice of shopping, coffee shops, clothes, shoes, etc is a matter of personal preference, not politics.

Next thing we will hear from the looney left is that their towns dont have paved roads because the Rep wont let them have any money or handouts.

I am lost, I always thought it was the REP side that has all the better values, hard working and successful people who believed in America and freedom while the libs had no good moral values, didnt like our flag, wont go to Starbucks because it is too expensive, loved wal mart because they love cheap people. Liberal women wear shoes? How can they afford them if the REP corporations wont pay them enough money?
Guess I was wrong all along.............

Give me a break.

My new bumper sticker:

*Our new Congress*
Don't blame me I didn't vote for these liberal idiots !!
Impeach them or pay the price.

Some more of my witty (!) commentary:

Virtually every city in America has these amenties.

No Homeless people as conservatives put them in jail
Lots of homeless in Colorado Springs. We bought a homeless guy a sandwich once down there.

Plenty of Boy Scouts
Many join the Scouts as the "thing to do" in ele school. It's mostly a social/service/camping/outdoors group at those ages.

Multiple YMCA Family Locations with Long Lists of Rules & Regulations
We once belonged to the Y; I don't remember any long list of R&Rs. Just the usual stuff you would find at any health club. My DD worked at the Y summer camp - ditto.

Anything that promotes Guns, i.e. Gun Shows, Gun Shops, Bass Pro Shops
Whatever. I don't even know what a Bass Pro Shop is.

Churches on every corner, mostly in the South
Also in Minneapolis, one of the most liberal cities in the midwest.

Multiple locations of Chick Fil A, a conservatives' delicacy
Huh? Is owned by a Christian, that's all I know about it.

Few Gay people. They have either been beaten up or left long ago.
Large gay community in Denver, plus I"m not in the habit of asking everyone I meet what their sexual orientation is.

Again, the red responses do not necessarily represent my opinions. I think it's a lot of stereotyping.

I think roanoker 4 needs a time out in the corner for stating things that do not make any sense whatsoever.
You are not for real are you?

Chick Fil A a conservative delicacy.... since when? I hate the place myself

Homeless, conservative put them in jail. Where the heck did you ever get that? All along I thought it was always the liberals who only broke the law..

Churches on every corner. And what is wrong with that? I would like to see more of the my self.

Few gay people - Now that is better. Beaten up.... give me a break. Why would anyone beat up a gay person?

Promotes guns - Oh heck yes, we have the right to bear arms, read the constitution.

OMG... someone is drinking too much grape kool aide
