I've argued this so many times, its crazy.

A majority of Americans have at least tried Marijuana. Up to 35% of Americans are still smoking today.

I'm just going to continue posting website links to shoot down the points anyone makes against it.

Also you are taking the "sketch" out of buying marijuana. If you go to a walmart, and pick out your pack by the cigarettes, there is no fear in the trade, which includes sketchy people, loss of money, and possibly weapons to secure their product.

Alcohol was once made illegal, which then turned country folks and drinkers into criminals much like its turning your average teenager who has smoked once in their life into one. But alcohol was eventually made legal again and taxed, this brought a plethora back in taxes which was useful in the american government. So if they can do that for alcohol, which kills thousands a year in accidents, and poisonings, why cant they do that for Marijuana?

Just some thoughts, no hard A$$ in here please.
Were you stoned when you wrote this? Seems that potheads always get brilliant ideas when they're stoned.

Not enough people are potheads to make the taxes amount to anything. Maybe if you levied a $1000 tax per dime bag. Other than that, it'd amount to nothing.

Besides, what would potheads spend their days complaining about?

Amazing statistic. I love when people use the "up to" phrase to try and make things sound bigger than they are..

Did you know that up to 73% of Americans eat apples while standing on their heads in a vat of jelly beans?

It may be .00000000001%, but hey, that's "up to", right?

No, stoner, most people do not need to smoke weed to be happy.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of HHS have sponsored several national surveys to track drug use trends

Drug Use Trends - Factsheet - Drug Facts

Look at the numbers, see for yourself. 35% is a conservative estimate, some studies show it as high as 55%.

So even if use were that high (which it's not), would that to you signify that it's a good thing so many people feel the need to get high to enjoy life, or that values and respect for one's own body is a fading thing? Is it a good thing that drug use is high?

If you idiots would all stop using drugs, you know the drug trade would end, right? Thus, mindless violence would drastically drop. I keep hearing about the government needing to legalize drugs to take the power away from the cartels, but here's an idea......

WHY DON'T YOU STOP BEING STONERS?

You could have a drug trade with just prescription drugs. If people get hooked, they go far beyond medical use. And at that point, if they know someone who can hook them up, they don't need to go and get a prescription. Drug dealers don't care about prescriptions or ID for that matter, so it's actually more convenient.

There goes that argument. Try again.

Most people who smoke marijuana have also eaten mashed potatoes, maybe they're the real culprit?

The 'marijuans as gateway' isn't supported by hard evidence, just another fear-mongering tactic.

Please. Prescription drugs are already regulated. You don't see drug dealers on the street pushing valium or xanex. Maybe a few kids that steal it from mommy's cabinet, but hardly a cartel.

If people can learn to be big boys and girls and not use illegal drugs, that would end the drug trade. Simple supply and demand. If there's no demand, the supply stops.

Let me know if you need me to dumb it down a little more. I'll try.

The obesity rate in the US says it is, maybe you should be crusading against BigMacs instead?
