If you want land and a gun, you can live in the Czech Republic, where they have more rights and freedoms than we do.

The country has a few economic issues because it's still recovering from Soviet rule, but it's certainly no worse of a country to live in than the US.
Pug Life....you are a great man....thank you for thinking outside the box and standing up to these idiots.

It's true that most Americans don't hold passports and don't have a desire to visit other countries, but I don't condemn them for it. For one, we share land borders only with Canada and Mexico. And because of the exchange rates, it's more expensive for most Americans to visit Western European countries than it is for Europeans to visit the U.S. I'm sure many Americans would like to visit Europe, but between making mortgage payments and raising children, most of them don't have the means to do so.

I've been several times, but I'm an unusual case (in a good way, I like to think!).

I know that....and I don't blame people for not being able to travel (it is expensive, after all). I do wish that Americans would be more open minded and less ignorant though....you don't need to travel to learn to be that way, although it sure helps

Dude, don't be a complete tool. We all know that Hitler was a threat to the entire world, including the United States. Stopping Hitler wasn't about saving Europe.....as Hitler wouldn't have stopped at just colonizing Western Europe. I am so tired of the "we saved their asses" argument that it's not even funny. The British fought a good fight, long before the US intervened, when they simply had to.

And therein lies a dichotomy. You'll hear many Americans complain about how government isn't responsive and that their representatives aren't listening to the people they represent, yet those same people scoff at the notion that anyone should expect the government to provide a basic service such as access to health care.

There's a deep mistrust of government in America that goes back to the founding of this country, and it's especially prevalent in the southern states.

Churchill was a great "war" leader, but aside from that, he wasn't so great.

No offense, but that's because US politics and US politicians are awful. OK, politicians everywhere have a tendency to suck, but it's more extreme here in America. Politicians here are the biggest liars and frauds I've ever known. Presidential campaigns are basically built on lies.....no candidate actually delivers on what they say they're going to do. US politics are a joke.....so I do understand why so many of you have so little faith in the Federal government, but you people need to (literally) take to the streets and demand better politicians, rather than the half-assed idiots you vote for.

Are we all being brainwashe dby corporate America? LOL.

Fact is the vast majority of people that don't have insurance here is because they choose not to get it.

If Obama was only trying to insure people that wanted but could not afford it he would get it passed in a heart beat. Prbably about 10 millionm people or so. It would be siimple to do. And it wouldn't cost that much.

Instead he goes out and says stuff about how evil the insurance companies are. If up to 90% of people are happy with their insurance then why does he keep saying how bad it is. Then he says he aint gonna touch it. That's why he will never pass this. He's lying and people know it. If he didn't want to touch it he would be talking about it.

All he needs to do is say we X amount of people that want insurance and cannot afford it. This is how much it will cost. He could pass it quick and he knows it.

Nobody believes his 50million number.

And if insurance compnies did what you said they did in denying coverage then they are guilty of fraud. And the government should start locking people up. Since the govt aint doing that we know that they are lying about insurance companies denying care. And you know it too.

And how come insurance comapnies don't pull all these trcks with auto insurance, home owners, renters, etc..... Couldn't they do the same thing and start jacking up the prices of premiums and denying coverage? I don't see why not. It's the exact same companies. If it works for health insurance it out to work for all other forms of insurance. Or are you just not very smart?
If you truly believe that 90% of Americans are happy with their healthcare, you're clearly clueless, or oblivious to what's truly going on

I don't share your highly cynical views on American politicians. To say that they're the "biggest liars and frauds" you've ever known - well, you must not know many politicians. The U.S. is far from having a squeaky clean system, but it's far from the worst. In fact, according to the corruption index from Transparency International, many European countries have more corrupt governments than the U.S., even in Western Europe (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece).
