Why only thousands? Aren't there millions in Canada and Europe?? I'd be far more impressed if the majority was praising their health care system. What a small minority thinks of their health care doesn't convince me.

Yet by far the USA has the most people wanting to immigrate to it. If Europe and Canada are so great and so free and provide so much, then why are millions upon millions of people from all over trying to get to the USA?

I believe you are wrong. I live on the border and our hospitals and clinics are filled with people not born in the USA.

The USA even has more illegals than Canada has citizens. Mexico has nationalized health care yet it's people are dying by the thousands trying to make it into the US.

Mexicans are dying by the thousands trying to make it into the US? How is that happening? Are the border patrols shooting them?

I would bet the number in Denver is about 10% of that, e.g. 180. Canadians come to the US sunbelt in the winter and some of them get sick. Big whoop. Doesn't their Canadian ins. pay for that?

Not one person that i spoke to, and i spoke to as many as possible, disliked their health system. They all told me that they were not restricted in choices of Doctors or treatments. I accompanied my friend in the UK when she had to go to her Doctor for her contraceptive pill. She gets six month supply and has a her blood pressure checked etc every six months before being prescribed more contraceptives. I was told that even condoms are given free to try to reduce unwanted pregnancy. My friends script cost her approx $4 for six months supply of contraceptive pills.
The Doctors surgery was like any here in the USA and we waited 10 minutes to be seen. I asked the Doctor if he would want to work in the USA and he said he had worked in a Hospital in America as part of his training and would not want to repeat the experience. He thought that the medical system in America was extremely biased towards certain groups in society and he didn't become a Doctor just to get mega rich or pander to the fortunate with money or company health cover. He thought the American health system was quite obscene and he said 99% of British Doctors felt the same.
Having seen the UK system up close has made me realise that we have a long way to go before our health system in America becomes one of the Worlds top health systems and uhc's work in every Country that they have been introduced into. Australia is a "New World" country just like us yet they have implemented a working uhc that Australians didn't want but now love. It is definately not the best health system in the world here and is eclipsed by the uhc countries, yet we are afraid to move forward. Too many big corporations will lose money with a uhc here and prefer Americans to lose their lives than get a workable health system for everyone.
Really? Are you sure about that?

Sentenced to death on the NHS - Telegraph

"In a letter to The Daily Telegraph, a group of experts who care for the terminally ill claim that some patients are being wrongly judged as close to death.

Under NHS guidance introduced across England to help doctors and medical staff deal with dying patients, they can then have fluid and drugs withdrawn and many are put on continuous sedation until they pass away."

NHS is unsafe and inhuman, says director - Telegraph

Mother told 'there are no doctors' as she tries to save dying baby - Telegraph

"Merilyn Bartley, 46, said an "air of panic" descended at Barnet Hospital in North London as nurses frantically searched for a doctor when the condition of her five-month-old baby deteriorated following major heart surgery.

Her son Dominic could have been saved if prompt medical action had been taken, an inquest heard.
But because Dominic arrived at Barnet Hospital at the weekend, following a transfer from Royal Brompton Hospital where he had the heart surgery, crucial equipment, test results and medical expertise were not available."

'NHS will not cope' with rising number of cancer patients - Telegraph

Stafford Hospital scandal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Released in March 2009, the commission's report severely criticised the Foundation Trust's management and detailed the appalling conditions and inadequacies at the hospital. Many press reports suggested that because of the substandard care between 400 and 1200 more patients died between 2005 and 2008 than would be expected for the type of hospital,...

They're dying in the canals, dying hiking through scorching hot deserts, getting run over trying to jump a train -- fleeing their country that has nationalized health care to make it to the USA where we don't have that. And you never see them simply passing through to make it to Canada which like their country also has nationalized health care.

And if Canada and Europe are so great, why aren't millions of uninsured Americans fleeing to live there?

The first thing you gotta do is say NO to MD's and dentists who want to make zillions a year...they among many need a salary cap. Salary caps are the only thing that will help the falling greedy nation. Why...because no system will work with thieves and every-time money is an issue and you don't have guards with guns and good tough laws money goes missing. Plus if you don't believe this...why the heck do you think a bottle of 25cent pills cost 65 dollars. Everyone is a crook. Healthcare repair...? a waste of time until you get all the greedy crooks out of buis. Assume everyone is a crook and you will do well. Salary caps right off the bat. Cut them in half. There are so many problems its unbelievable and easy to solve with common sense and very tough boundaries. These slobs should also be involved in volunteer work in a rotational. Never mind the BS charity for exemption and do what charity really is YOUR TIME, once a month standard requirement with the oath to healthcare. Bill Bill Bill...gimmee gimmee gimmee...low paid workers bill...when do they get paid..? never....so don't give me this everyone bills and invoice's and gets paid for work done.

Are they coming to the US for healthcare or for jobs?

It is very tough to move to Canada and Europe. If you happen to have the exact skills/education they need you are in luck. Otherwise, your chances are not so good.

By the way, lots of Americans have moved to other countries. Especially retirees.

I lived outside the US for 7 years (thanks to the Army). Its a different lifestyle in other countries thats for sure. And that differing lifestyle has good points and bad ones as well. My wife and I lived native (so to speak) by choice and saw first hand what everyday life there (including very good healthcare) was like.

And please note. I am not disparaging the US in any way. I could move to another country if I wished. But the US is far and away the best place to live IMO. Unfortunately, the healthcare system here today is a broken mess.
