I guess this is more Republican lying about the health plan proposal. Sad when a group has to resort to this rather then actually debating the issue.
In the UK, the NHS is paid for by taking (last I heard) 45 pounds a month from each working persons paycheck. If you are a stay at home Mom, or handicapped or a child then you don't have to pay anything. 45 pounds isn't HALF of what someone earns.

I guess this is just another ignorant poster jumping to conclusions.

I just returned from the UK and they pay nothing like 50% in tax for a extremely comprehensive welfare system. The NHS is just a part of what they pay for and it covers every citizen. I heard absolutely no desire from anyone in France or the UK to change their health system but look at us here, fighting with each other over our health system. Our system has now failed, let us be honest and move forward.

A lot of conservatives and even some liberals are making the comparison that all single payer socialist healthcare programs are created equal and this is far from the truth. Comparing the UK to the French healthcare system is like comparing the UK system with the US. France is ranked 1st according to the world health organisation statistics with the UK at 16 and the US at 32.
What in the world are you talking about? This is pure fiction.
Are you are talking about the CAP on SS taxes you have to pay? EVERYBODY pays SS taxes on earnings UP TO $106,000 (or something like that). That is definitely different from what you claim.
That is not correct. Everyone pays into social security but there is an income cap.
I worded my post unclearly. After a certain amount--around $100,000--any income earned over that amount is not taxed for social security. This means that the rich stop paying for social security after that amount.
Agreed... The irony is people talking about the cost when Obama and company can't seem to come up with an actual cost or method to pay for it. Pass the bill and we'll figure it out later.
I repped you. I agree, many people have exactly that mindset of get it done and we will pay for it somehow tomorrow. People cite these UHC countries but want to pay U.S. type of taxes. It doesn't work that way. Nothing is free. If you want unversal healthcare, you will have to pay for it. The liberals are just dellusional and are accept Obama's proposals to pay for it without taking the time to think about what he is saying.

Pay over $106,800 is hardly "rich" by today's standards. It's middle class. A married individual supporting a family on that amount still qualifies for a number of tax credits if they meet the criteria.

No jumping, I actually READ THE BILL at question rather then resorting to lying about it to frighten people. People of your ilk don't want anything Obama proposes because he comes from the wrong party. You wouldn't admit he has done something right because you are party blind.

He wasn't comparing the one in the UK with France, stop making up things so you don't have to address the real issue. He was pointing out that they have public systems that their people are happy with. That simple.
