Instead of worrying about Obama's standings in the polls, you would do well to figure out how and where you are going to find a viable candidate to run against him. I don't see one on the horizon at the moment.
Remember, too, that Bush had fallen in the polls in 2004 and managed to finally win an election honestly in spite of it. Obama will be a two-termer.
Rasmussen and Pew were the most accurate pollsters in predicting the results of the 2008 Presidential election. Some pollsters just poll adults whether they vote or not. That's useless. In the 2008 election only 56.8% of the total voting age population voted. You want pollsters like Rassmussen to take their sample from likely voters (or the 56.8% who vote) if you are using the results to predict anything. Rassmussen does that. Some other pollsters do not. If you want to compare poll results by various pollsters:
1. Look at the population they are sampling
2. Compare the question they ask to get the results
3. See what's weighted
In my opionion the next election if we have one, is going to be a suprise more people will turn out to vote than ever before. Main Stream Media failed to report fair and truthfully and it has pi## the voters off. So much b*ll S*it that the people who didn't vote in the last election will be there along with the voters that have just woke up.
For a guy that's suppose to be sinking, his approval rating seems to somehow stay at 54%..After 8 months of relentless attacks, still 54%..
What relentless attacks? By bloggers and posters and facebook? If these are concerns then he has far more to worry about. Bush was under relentless attacks by the media, CNN, CBS etc. When our beloved liberal stations start to attack the POTUS, then he is justified to worry about poll numbers.
We will see in the midterm elections of 2010. Methinks you are wrong and once you see the results you will see the truth.
His approval ratings have nothing to do with the 2010 elections. The pathetic approval rating of congress will...
It's at 30% now, though up from the low of 12%, the approval rating of congress has not been above 44% since 2005. So it's anyone's guess what happens in the 2010 elections. Probably a few GOP candidates will win their districts back, but it's not likely to be a dramatic shift at this point. Maybe if Obama keeps focusing on the wrong things, but likely it's going to remain pretty similar until 2012.
